Currently going through what I believe could be a four month sleep regression? For ages my son slept really well didn't wake up in the night and if he did it was for one bottle then slept. Most nights slept 9:30pm till about 8am next day.
Has alllllllllll gone out the window the past week 🤣 I always knew the good sleep wouldn't last long and I appreciated it when it did but it's kinda making me feel extremely tired now including my partner🥱
How long does it last?? Will it go on for months?? Will I ever have a 8-8 again? 😥😥🤣
The strange thing is if he wakes up. As soon as I place him onto my bed and pillow he sleeps. So if it was a sleep regression surely he would wake also in my bed?

I'll join you too ladies! In the midst of the 4 month regression (although she's now 5.5 months) and it's brutal! Wishing everyone luck for this evening @jmj90 my LO sounds very similar to yours...will only nap on the move. It's exhausting! Wish I could get her to nap in the crib but no idea how to achieve it!

CiabattaKat · 29/11/2021 20:04

Thought I'd join in. My little boy has not slept longer than 2 hours in a month, previously we were doing 2 x 6 stretches at night. He hit 6 months and it all changed, he has two teeth appearing and he's also had 3 terrible colds. I'm praying his sleep improves soon, some nights he's awake 20+ times 😞

LCF2021 · 29/11/2021 21:12

Well, what a horrific bedtime we’ve just had. So, she woke from her nap at 5pm so I aim for a 7.30/45 bedtime. Read a story with my 2.5 year old while I fed LO. She fell asleep feeding so put her to bed. 10 mins later she’s up and screaming. I spent 25 mins patting, stroking, cuddling, dummy in and she eventually dropped off in my arms so back to bed. A whole 6 mins later it starts again. This time taking half an hour to get her back down, a lot of it was my husband and I just saying “I don’t know what else to do”. I can’t feed her every single time she wakes when she’s JUST fed, especially as she’ll wake as soon as my boob isn’t in her mouth anymore 🤷‍♀️ My son was very similar and yet again I feel like a failure when it comes to sleep. All these people who told me second babies are more chilled lied to me!!

Sneezymcsneezy · 29/11/2021 21:18

@CiabattaKat I'm on a record of 14 times and that's without illnesses, I feel your pain Flowers

@LCF2021 hoping your babies settle now, I'm just putting mine to bed now and hoping he is nice to me tonight 🤞🤞🤞

Sleepymama285 · 29/11/2021 21:25

@LCF2021 Totally sympathise, our night has been exactly the same....long feed and into bed at 7, she then woke after 5 mins! Rocked and back in crib...dummy in several times and awake again by 9 refusing anything other than a feed! Feel so deflated. It seems a monumental task even detaching her from my boob, let alone settling in the crib! Sending solidarity and I honestly think some babies are just naturally a lot trickier when it comes to sleep. That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

jmj90 · 29/11/2021 23:11

We had a good bedtime (earlier tonight at 8:15) .. now awake and falling asleep in my arms immediately when picked up but waking as soon as I put him down. I just keep telling myself that this can't last forever... also, something getting me through night wakings is popping my Bluetooth headphones in and listening to an audiobook... helps lower stress levels! I'm currently on the potter books (my absolute fav so it makes night wakings more fun!) haha give it a try ladies xx

ayylauren · 30/11/2021 09:53

we finally had a better night!! got him down about 8, couple of short wake ups between then and 11pm. He then slept until 3.30! Couldn't believe it. Was up a couple times again until getting up this morning about 7. Nowhere near perfect but after more than hourly wake ups I'll take it!! Grinhope you ladies had a good/better night also!

Sneezymcsneezy · 30/11/2021 09:58

Also a better night than normal here too! It'll be a fluke though as it always is, almost the same as you @ayylauren except he was up from 3-4.15am, but I just fed, walked him around a bit and then put him next to me in bed where I snoozed, next time I opened my eyes he was asleep! Moved him back, up again at 7 fed then up finally at 8.45!

ayylauren · 30/11/2021 10:37

@Sneezymcsneezy it always seems to be a fluke doesn't it Confused I've stopped getting excited about a good night now, just taking it one night at a time

Sneezymcsneezy · 30/11/2021 11:33

@ayylauren yup, going to go for a walk today, I need the fresh air. He's got some really awful dribble rash, the docs want to see him too to make sure everything is ok.. and he's been sooooo fussy recently, constantly needing stimulation and also wanting to be held... Standing upright... ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕😹

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 30/11/2021 13:35

Yesterday my poor boy came out with such a nasty cold, he's really chesty and stuffy so I didn't even consider putting him in his own room last night I had him in bed with me. DH slept in spare room so we could have more room and be comfortable but he was unsettled pretty much all night moaning loudly in his sleep and wriggling round with very few settled episodes. Normally the dummy settles him but it didn't. Woke me up around 2am coughing and all blocked up so I had to get the saline and snot sucker out to clear his nose!
DH had the day off work so he took over at 6 and I managed to get a sleep in til 9:30 so I feel human at least. Hate seeing him poorly breaks my heart Sad let's see what tonight brings!

LCF2021 · 30/11/2021 18:24

Had such a rubbish day. She has been so miserable and crying all day. I think I need to go back to 4 naps a day for her even though today she’s had over 4 hours of sleep (all on me 🙄). She got woken up by her brother at 4.45pm and has been grumpy since. I’m so sick of all her crying today…combine that with my toddler throwing a tantrum about me not giving him flapjacks for dinner and refusing any other food and I’m done with today

jmj90 · 30/11/2021 18:35

Tough day this end too, we had a shocking night of being awake constantly and a grumpy pudding today!

Hang in there Mumma's sending love and strength, you're all doing amazing, even when it doesn't feel like it xxx

CiabattaKat · 30/11/2021 19:31

Our little boy never had a sleep regression or anything noticeable up until 6 months and I do wonder now if we'll sleep again any time soon, he's relatively happy in the day, his naps are always very short (30-45 mins) so we end up putting him down 4 times a day still. I feel like I've got no clue what I'm doing tbh. How on earth some of you have more than one is beyond me, I think you must be super human. I had group therapy today with some other mum's who are living with PND and one did tell me her LO went through something similar at 6 months and it took about 6 weeks to come to an end. We are 4 weeks in and I'm on my knees. I've barely left the house. Thinking of you all tonight, little one is in pjs and bed, let the 45 minute wake ups commence. Confused

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 30/11/2021 20:00

@CiabattaKat I hear you!
My MIL has 5! My DH was 1 school year above his brother, then there was a 4 year gap and she had my SIL who was 1 school year above the other SIL who is only 2 years older than the youngest brother!! All fairly close in age I don't know how she coped!! 😩

Sneezymcsneezy · 30/11/2021 20:09

@StickyStickyStickStickSong @CiabattaKat that's the thing, you just cope 🥺and @StickyStickyStickStickSong sorry about your boy, I am dreading the day mine gets ill... Surely can't be worse than waking up every hour at night??

@jmj90 mine is soooo grumpy, save meeee Grin

ayylauren · 30/11/2021 20:09

oh no @StickyStickyStickStickSong hope your LO feels better soon!! Thanks

I'm one of 5! Although my parents divorced not long after the 5th arrived and my mother's coping strategies were not the healthiest.

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 30/11/2021 20:52

@Sneezymcsneezy @ayylauren thank you 😘 I'm sure it's just a cold but it's horrible, it's heart breaking 🥺 not his usual happy bouncy self bless him he's so snuffly even his cry sounds different and he's not eating solids and barely having his milk and his feeds/naps have been all over the place today poor boy. He's down now, last bottle was 6pm so I'm expecting him to wake soon I'll give him an unusually late bottle and hope that settles him for a bit.
I was contemplating watching I'm a celeb or wrapping some Xmas presents but I'm gonna do neither and just get a bit of sleep while he's down. As last night was awful my eyes were stinging this morning with sleep deprivation I really think he was awake more than hourly last night @Sneezy 🥱😴 hard work! 😩
Good luck tonight ladies. We got this 💪🏻 xx
