Currently going through what I believe could be a four month sleep regression? For ages my son slept really well didn't wake up in the night and if he did it was for one bottle then slept. Most nights slept 9:30pm till about 8am next day.
Has alllllllllll gone out the window the past week 🤣 I always knew the good sleep wouldn't last long and I appreciated it when it did but it's kinda making me feel extremely tired now including my partner🥱
How long does it last?? Will it go on for months?? Will I ever have a 8-8 again? 😥😥🤣
The strange thing is if he wakes up. As soon as I place him onto my bed and pillow he sleeps. So if it was a sleep regression surely he would wake also in my bed?

we had a better night last night too! DS went down (after being rocked in pramHmm) about 8pm, gave him a dream feed around 10 and he didn't wake till 1am. Then wakings feedings at 3 and 5 and we got up at 6.30 when DP went to work. So a much better night than usual. Going to carry on with the dream feeding as it seemed to make the whole night better

ayylauren · 24/11/2021 12:37

@LCF2021 8 hours seems like an impossible dream!!! Hope you are enjoying itGrinGrin

LCF2021 · 24/11/2021 13:07

@ayylauren I know! She was generally sleeping 8pm-3/4am up until a few weeks ago so I’m hoping she goes back to it although I think the jabs played a big part in it last night as she was super snoozy yesterday afternoon

pinkgin1 · 24/11/2021 21:06

So tired today I could just drop down anywhere and sleep 😴

@LCF2021 jabs are horrible for them 😥but it might start her off in a new routine if she's been like it a couple of nights now ? 🤞xx

@pinkgin1 with ya sister, just go to bed when baby does... Clearly do as I say and not as I do Wink

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 25/11/2021 16:57

How were all our darling babies last night?
I've noticed a pattern. My DS sleeps a good 3 hour stretch 9pm-12 without waking but then it's every hour after that, sometimes more.
And I end up just putting him in with me at 3am because I'm that tired my eyes are stinging by then and I need sleep 😵 soon as he's next to me he's out for the count til 7:30ish

ayylauren · 25/11/2021 18:37

@StickyStickyStickStickSong my DS is exactly the same, the first time he's put down he will sleep for maybe 3 hours but after that it's back to constant waking. Probably our worst night so far last night, after 10.30 he was up every hour and after 2am it was more like every half hour 😭have given plenty of naps today and early bedtime to try help him catch up. Wasn't sure if it was 4 month sleep regression, now I am positive 😂

LCF2021 · 25/11/2021 19:26

@StickyStickyStickStickSong Last night she didn’t go down until 8.30pm as she napped later than usual and slept until 2.30am, had a feed and went back to bed but it took a while and then she ended up in our bed at about 6am. I find she goes to sleep quite late. All the “sleep experts” say they should only be awake for 2hrs max at this age but I find that if she naps until 5pm she’s not ready to go to sleep until closer to 8pm.

Sneezymcsneezy · 25/11/2021 20:22

@ayylauren same here except for he goes to bed 8/9ish (I've made his bedtime later to accommodate me) so up every 45 mins after 3am.

@StickyStickyStickStickSong sounds like co-sleeping is a must at this stage!

@LCF2021 we keep him up at least 3 hours after his last nap, lots of entertaining as he does get grumpy. I also don't follow wake windows, so some days it's 1.5 hours some days it's 3! I'm all for routine but how do you make a baby follow one? It's near impossible and means that I'm not gonna be live my life around him napping in his cotbed!!

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 25/11/2021 21:44

@ayylauren mine had the 7 month regression and he's 8 months now 😩

Good luck tonight ladies I usually watch I'm a celeb but in that tired I'm turning in now ready for him to wake up around midnight woop woop 🙄

Sneezymcsneezy · 26/11/2021 11:24

Shocker of a night yday, I have no idea how I'm still functioning. Every hour after 2am and a couple of times needed to pick him up more than once Sad

ayylauren · 26/11/2021 11:34

@Sneezymcsneezy absolutely with you there, horrible night for us too. Luckily DP took him downstairs for an hour before he went to work so I managed a little catch up. Don't think I'd have functioned otherwise. Hope it gets better for us 🤞🏻

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 26/11/2021 12:24

@ayylauren @Sneezymcsneezy aww sorry to hear you had bad nights!
I only started putting DS in his own room since last weekend. Every night up until last night have been difficult and I've ended up putting him in with me half way through the night but I was surprised last night he spent the first full night in his room bless him. He stirred at the usual time midnight, then 3ish.. both times I just nipped in popped dummy back in and shhhhhed him, then left and he settled back himself. Then at 5 he stirred and had pooped so I changed him and contemplated putting him in with me but I thought nope I'll try and leave him see how he gets on and bless him he fell back to sleep then didn't wake til 8am! Hoorahh
Fluke or progress? I don't know but I'm hoping for the latter 🤞

Sneezymcsneezy · 26/11/2021 14:05

@StickyStickyStickStickSong absolutely progress! We will move him when husband is off over Christmas, I know there were times where he was grumbling so if I left him long enough he'd fall back to sleep, but I couldn't sleep through it. The last one I just put my head in a pillow sandwich and fell asleep.. he also clearly fell asleep eventually!

ayylauren · 26/11/2021 15:34

@StickyStickyStickStickSong hope it's progress for you!!

ayylauren · 27/11/2021 04:34

having the worst night ever 😢 every time I put DS down he's up again in 10-20 mins. It's driving me insane. Thinking maybe the wind is unsettling him so got fan on full blast. Also to drown out the sound of DP snoring because I've got major sleep envy. Dreading tomorrow my battery is empty 😭

Newmum29 · 27/11/2021 07:15

We moved to eat play sleep but to be honest it only worked when I stopped BF and began using formula because I was so scared of over feeding that we really did stick to feeding every 3 hours and then 4.

Sneezymcsneezy · 27/11/2021 11:00

@ayylauren happened to me a couple of times too, I feel like yesterday was better but it's more because my body is now tuned to get used to the disruption. Current situation is baby is napping and I'm on my second slice of Cake Grin

Sneezymcsneezy · 27/11/2021 11:02

FWIW we also do eat play sleep too during the day, baby is rocked/held to sleep then transferred to crib. Sometimes when I want snuggles I feed him to sleep... I don't have a routine Grin

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 27/11/2021 11:15

Yay it wasn't a fluke!! 2nd night in a row now he's stayed in his room all night bless him! 🙌🏻
Although after midnight he does get unsettled around every 2 hours. But when I go in to him his eyes are closed but he's wriggling round and moaning so I just have to put the dummy in and shhhh him a little and then leave him to settle and he does.
Aww man @ayylauren sorry to hear you had a bad night. It could well have been the wind it was sooo windy! But then again was nice to wake up to a white garden, feels very cosy and Christmassy today 😌
@Sneezy not a bad idea at all! 🍰 my DS is asleep too might go grab a mince pie.. or 2!! 🤭

ayylauren · 27/11/2021 13:44

@StickyStickyStickStickSong yeah I'm really hoping the wind had something to do with it!! Aw it snowed here too but didn't stick! Glad you had a better night with your LOHalo

ayylauren · 27/11/2021 13:45

@Sneezymcsneezy oh I'm used to being up a lot with him but he's really testing me now it's a whole new kind of tired!! We definitely all deserve cake Grin

Sneezymcsneezy · 27/11/2021 16:21

@StickyStickyStickStickSong I hear you regarding noise... It's unbelievable that they are sleeping through their own moaning/shouting/whining!!!

LCF2021 · 27/11/2021 16:22

Anyone else can’t wait to drop the 3rd nap?! I always do it in the carrier on the dog walk but with it getting so dark now and with the insane storm today I’m currently walking around the house with her strapped to me so I can also make a start on dinner. It’s so much easier when they just have one nap in the middle of the day…which isn’t for bloody ages 😂
