Currently going through what I believe could be a four month sleep regression? For ages my son slept really well didn't wake up in the night and if he did it was for one bottle then slept. Most nights slept 9:30pm till about 8am next day.
Has alllllllllll gone out the window the past week 🤣 I always knew the good sleep wouldn't last long and I appreciated it when it did but it's kinda making me feel extremely tired now including my partner🥱
How long does it last?? Will it go on for months?? Will I ever have a 8-8 again? 😥😥🤣
The strange thing is if he wakes up. As soon as I place him onto my bed and pillow he sleeps. So if it was a sleep regression surely he would wake also in my bed?

@JammyRedRooo Before I had kids everyone told me how much babies love the car. Not my babies. I cycled through Old McDonald approximately 78 times in a bid to calm her with no success.

ayylauren · 07/12/2021 21:13

Well after saying my LO doesn't get poorly from his jabs I've shot myself in the foot. No temp or ill symptoms but he must feel rubbish - he must've fallen asleep and woken up 20+ times on the boob, before I could even attempt to put him down. The last time he woke up he screamed bloody murder, I think a combo of feeling poorly and being exhausted.

We took him out in the car and he fell asleep instantly. Got him back, and stupidly decided to try put him in bed instead of letting him sleep in car seat. Now feeding to sleep again ConfusedConfused feeling hopeless.

ayylauren · 07/12/2021 21:14

@Mytigerhasstripyfeet yep seems we are all in this together GrinConfused

Sneezymcsneezy · 07/12/2021 22:03

@LCF2021 mine hates the car too, apparently they learn to tolerate it in time??

Snap again lol. Although it did sweet FA, seemed to just make her more angry!

Well last night was a fluke, here we go again 🥴 quite enjoying listening to the storm at least.

@ayylauren poor little guy and poor you! Hope you're both managing some sleep x

Timeturnerplease · 08/12/2021 04:39

Jabs are EVIL. No sleep unless on me tonight. Also has a cold which doesn’t help. Sending hope for all of you that you don’t experience these fun and games.

Christ, why did I ever complain about DD1’s sleep. Yes she wailed before sleep and yes she woke all the time but at least she didn’t give me a dead arm 😂

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 07:40

Uggggh I need an IV drip of coffee! LO finally gave in to sleep at 8pm, woke at 11pm for 30 mins. I was then woken at 1am up by my 2.5yo crying, went into him and he was burning up and telling me he was hot so calpol for him but he wouldn’t go back to sleep. Husband and I spent an hour taking turns going in to him and he wouldn’t settle so eventually he took him to the spare room to sleep with him (we’ll be paying for that for the next couple of weeks as he’ll expect that every night). 2.45am LO woke for a feed and wouldn’t go back to bed so co-slept but she would only be cuddled up to me. More feeds followed, no idea what time.
I’m now awake and uncomfortable with a dead arm as I’m still cuddling her while she continues to snooze.
Now got to book a PCR test for my son as he has a temperature and nursery won’t take him tomorrow without a negative test 😩

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 07:42

Also LOL at my recorded sleep on my Fitbit telling me I had a whole 4 minutes of deep sleep last night 😂

Timeturnerplease · 08/12/2021 08:16

The dead arm is a real thing - daily occurrence in our house atm. I don’t drink tea, so am on my second Pepsi Max of the morning. The plasterers turned up this morning for our extension and asked if I was ok 😂

Sleepymama285 · 08/12/2021 09:13

Sounds like some tough nights ladies, hope you're all doing ok. Urgh 4 minutes of deep sleep is insane! You're a hero for surviving that night! We had the usual 2 hourly wake ups with a 40 min BF back to sleep each time...all fun and games! Bring on the teenage years when we can't get them out of bed in the morning I say! Grin

ayylauren · 08/12/2021 09:57

so we had a pretty unsettled evening but he then slept from around 1ish to 4.30, after a nappy change was wide awake. DP took him downstairs for an hour for a play then brought him back up to me and we co slept till after 8.30. Feeling groggy but going to try stay positive and get some good naps in for baby todayBrewBrew

ayylauren · 08/12/2021 09:57

@Sleepymama285 people always say don't wish away the time but I'm looking forward to more sleep at some pointGrinGrin

Sneezymcsneezy · 08/12/2021 10:00

Slightly better last night with 1 X 45 mins of bum pats, and I didn't need to move him next to me... And no poop in the middle of the night ,😹 still up every 1-2 hours, can't believe I'm saying this but I feel refreshed 😹😹😹😹

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 10:06

@ayylauren Don’t listen to people who say “don’t wish this time away” or “enjoy every minute”…the people who say that usually have much older children and have totally forgotten how hard and relentless the baby stage can be. I forgot just how difficult it is and I only did it 2 years ago!

Mytigerhasstripyfeet · 08/12/2021 10:10

@LCF2021 but 4m should surely be enough hehe! No that sounds like an awful night.

2-3hr wake ups here which isn't so bad. I did accidentally fall asleep on the sofa for 45m and woke up at 4am. I'd been having a lovely dream about gathering flowers in a field to feed to my horse (I don't have a horse). Lucky the boy was ok, I'd only closed my eyes for a moment...

I am almost sure he's waking at night now to eat. He's not eating at all well in the day. He's definitely eating more frequently after 10pm. But falls asleep quickly and stays asleep between meals. I can handle 2-3hrs though - really hoping we don't go back to the every 45m wake ups.

@JammyRedRooo ah shame 10hrs isn't your standard now. Were you up lots?

ayylauren · 08/12/2021 10:22

@LCF2021 it's definitely tough at the moment and there's no sign of it letting up. I'm struggling to get my head around how people forget and have moreGrinGrin no I absolutely love my boy to bits but he's bloody hard work Grin I applaud you for being able to cope with more than one!!

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 11:00

Well, she had a 10 minute nap which took 40 minutes to achieve. I’m honestly so over it. My poor son has been plonked in front of the tv for over an hour. I feel like I’m failing being a good mum to my son, a good mum to my daughter as I’m getting frustrated with her never sleeping, a horrible wife as I’m just miserable through lack of sleep

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 11:00

@ayylauren Yeah, this is absolutely the last one. There’s nothing that could ever convince me to have any more.

JammyRedRooo · 08/12/2021 13:02

@Mytigerhasstripyfeet yeah, a very unsettled night for us I'm stingy in the eye tired!

I've lost count of how many times over the last few weeks I've declared that we wont be having another one!

Doesn't help that my MIL keeps 'helpfully' informing me that she 'should' be sleeping through the night by now. Cheers then..

ayylauren · 08/12/2021 13:17

@JammyRedRooo one of my childless friends asked me if I would be speaking to a doctor/midwife because my 4 month old baby doesn't sleep through the night it Hmm it took all my will power to not go absolutely mad at herGrin

JammyRedRooo · 08/12/2021 13:22

@ayylauren I feel you!! Some people just have no clue that their 'helpful' comments just make you feel like you're doing a totally shit job. And it's not even true, a quick google will tell you that most babies still wake up during the night throughout the first year AND go through regressions! I'd love to tell her to bore off sometimes but I dont think it'll do much for family relations Grin

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 15:56

I’m just flying by the seat of my pants today. Naps have been all over the place, 10 mins here and there. Then about an hour in my arms at lunchtime, fell back asleep on me about 20 mins later. No idea when to do the 3rd nap, just hoping she yawns soon so I can try and get her in the carrier and do some bouncing around.

pinkgin1 · 08/12/2021 20:12

My son has napped well today, having his bottle now falling asleep. Had a bath about an hour ago.
Hopefully will have a few hours before he wakes for another feed.
How's everyone's evening going?

LCF2021 · 08/12/2021 20:31

@pinkgin1 an exceptionally screamy bedtime for us tonight and my son was also upset going to bed too as he’s got a cold and doesn’t handle them well! I’m SO tired

ayylauren · 08/12/2021 20:54

@pinkgin1 we managed good naps today, a very tough time putting him down again but he eventually went down about 7.45 and still sleeping soundly. Got my fingers crossed for a better night 🤞🏻
