Ronan's message to you ladies above.

Amberjee · 10/11/2007 10:54

brilliant, thanks ronan!

tibsy · 10/11/2007 11:15

awwww, thanks ronan x hi roro

amber lol. what is it with these vomiting babies? [huh]

ChubbyScotsBurd · 10/11/2007 12:05

Beal have a nice time away, hope you get a nice break .

Tam and meg, hope your babies feel better soon, I'm dreading the first illness in this house ...

Tibsy well done for a good sleep but sorry for your SIL, hope it's nothing too serious

Ginger my LO's shaping up the same, loads of gnashing and very restless at times but no cheeks or nappies ...

And Amber, you have my total sympathy because LO loves to feed lying on top of me for some reason but this means having my boobs vommed on is nothing new to me ... uuuurgh!

Well I feel like a fraud for coming here!

Got LO down at 8ish after a couple of hours feeding/resisting, then had to resettle him at maybe quarter past, then he slept until midnight at which point I had to wake him to get myself in to bed (should have been sleeping earlier, I know, but couldn't resist some baby-free time, although I did spend it on MN!). He fed and howled for half an hour before going back to sleep. Think he woke between 12.30 and 5 but not sure when, then up til 7 then back down til 10 .

DP has taken him round the shops in the sling to allow me to recover from the shock!

tibsy · 10/11/2007 12:11

csb - wow!!!! thats great. sleeptastic in fact enjoy your break

my mil just phoned, it was, well is cancer unfortunately. they seem to think theyve got most of it by removing the mass, but there is still evidence of some on the pelvic wall which means she'll have to go for chemo apparently, shes pretty upbeat and positive atm, so thats great she used to be a nurse, so i reckon that will stand her in good stead as she knows what to expect iyswim?
i just want to thank you all for your thoughts, i know this isnt the place really and we're 'supposed' to talk about sleep ishoos, but it means a lot to mean that i have the support of my cyber friends as well as RL too. you guys really rock!!!

charliemama · 10/11/2007 12:12

Hello all.

I hope your LO feels better Ginger. Why hasn't the human body evolved so teeth don't hurt coming through?????

RoRo I'm glad you're feeling happier. Your other thread has got me hooked. You gals in the bright lights of the big city sound very glamorous to me. i don't even understand half the stuff being talked about!!!!

Tibs Sorry to hear about your Sil. I know how you feel about the jabs. Before they start school they have to have 2. Ds1 was very brave, but they then recalled his cohort because they had missed something out. He was not impressed!!!

Tam and meg I hope your los feel better soon.

Getting a bit concerned about fast approaching xmas. Its DD 3rd birthday the week before aswell!! We have done NOTHING. [worried emoticon]

hello Amber and anyone else I've missed apologies.

Ds1 is still poorly.

Last night.....

Ds2 bed just before 7
up at 7.30
9.30
11.30
4.30
Around 6 in bed with me until 7.30

Ds1 up at 2.30 in bed with Daddy until 5.

charliemama · 10/11/2007 12:17

x posted Tibs.

So sorry to hear about sil, but I'm glad she's feeling positive. I have some experience of family members going through treatments for cancer. If you want to 'talk' you know we're here.

I feel like this is a place I can come to for support and advice. I too sometimes feel I should only be talking about sleep, but tbh it's nice to talk to people who you've built up a rapport with and who know a bit about you. Would like to give you a hug.

tibsy · 10/11/2007 12:33

thankyou charlie hope ds1 feels better soon. for ds2's 11.30 - 4.30am stretch, 5 whole hours!!!! x

right, i'd better get off here.
catch you all soon (((hugs)))

ChubbyScotsBurd · 10/11/2007 12:45

tibs hope she's on the mend soon.

MegBusset · 10/11/2007 14:09

Tibs for your sil, when does she start chemo?

OP posts:
RoRoMommy · 10/11/2007 17:56

Tibs, so sorry about SIL, but great that she's positive, that's seriously half the battle, and the other half is having people around you who are supprtive, so obviously she's in good shape there, too! (((hugs)))

Amber, I missed the vomiting part earlier, that's freakin' hilarious.

CSB HOORAY!

CM, I am with you on having a supportive environment here, I think we could probably talk about anything [looks around for support]

DH is getting a bit miffed that I am always on here, he's like, what are you doing!? What about your RL friends (ie, him and DS).

[shame] [glee]

Okay, it's time for the X-FACTOR! I am secretly in love with the Riddler...

charliemama · 10/11/2007 19:44

Have just put on 2 pictures. I am feeling very proud of my computing!! Dh is very frustrated with how long it took to explain it to me.

RoRoMommy · 10/11/2007 19:46

Ditto! I just added some, too...can't wait to see yours CM!

DH is frustrated at how much time I spend on mn...

charliemama · 10/11/2007 19:49

What a gorgeous boy RoRo!

DH thinks I might have joined a cyber cult.

RoRoMommy · 10/11/2007 20:52

DH says that the only thing he can think of is mn mums not paying attention to their "dad's net dads" or the kids.

He wants to make sure you all know he's joking...

RoRoMommy · 10/11/2007 20:55

CM, your kids are so beautiful! What a sweet little DS2, and what a gorgeous little baby! Aw, I am clucky now...

RoRoMommy · 10/11/2007 20:57

er, I meant "he is such a gorgeous little baby..." not and.

Must preview posts...

RoRoMommy · 11/11/2007 04:08

ffs

DS has been unsettled all night long. To bed at 7:30, up at 10:00 (so I went to bed, even tho not tired really), fed him. Up, up, up it feels like, whimpering and rolling. I think it's teething, so I finally gave and took him to the bathroom and gave him some nurofen and changed his nappy.

He's playing in his play pen-itentiary and I am all alone on mn...grrrr.

Hopefully I won't see you all for a LONG time yet today.

Tamdin · 11/11/2007 07:12

roro for your unsettled night and early start!

our night good
bed and asleep by 8
woke at 6.50 for day

seems bit better today. no vomiting last night thank goodness

charliemama · 11/11/2007 09:28

Sounds like we both had a bad night RoRo. DS2 asleep by 7 but then up every 2 hours, all night!!!!

I am at a loss as to what to do. I have dug out Annabel Karmel and bought some apples and pears to start weaning next week.

Glad you had a good night Tamdin.

DS1 has developed a rash and woke at 9 last night. He and Daddy had a camp out on the inflatable mattress last night.

RoRoMommy · 11/11/2007 10:16

I was up with DS until 6am, then he went back to sleep until 7am, then DH got up with him, and I slept until just about twenty minutes ago. He is down for his morning nap, so thank god I got to clip his razor sharp nails.

Tam! for your night, that's fab!

CM, so sorry for yours...poor DS1, but about the camp out, how sweet. I can totally see DH doing that with our little one when he gets older. For now, he just wants DS to stop slapping him on the back when he's awake in bed in the middle of the night...

I hope no news is good news from the rest of you lot!

Amberjee · 11/11/2007 17:02

RoRo and CM, sorry for your horrid nights.

we had a brill one though 8pm to 7.20am straight through! we went downto lunch at petersham nursery, it was lovely, but now am exhausted after entertaining LO all day and he only had 2 x 30 min naps!

hope tonight brings some relief CM and RoRo.

CM, sorry to spoil the illusion but in mine and a lot of people's experience, weaning made bugger all difference to nights. actually at the moment, LO is hardly eating any solids, just throwing them around and yet he's doing some decent through the nights. go figure.... it really makes no sense at all

RoRoMommy · 11/11/2007 18:13

Hooray, Amber! These are great nights for you. It sounds like a lovely day, as well! We had a great day with DS, saw some friends, had a drink and sunday roast at the local (!!) and he fell asleep for a nap in his pram, so we went to the other local and had another drink...I think I was a bit tipsy...tee hee!

work tomorrow.

Also exhausted from entertaining DS...he's in his jumpy now. Thank god for jumpies.

ChubbyScotsBurd · 11/11/2007 19:05

Sorry for disturbed nights RO and CM. Woo Amber though!

I had a bad evening, really struggling to be still battling this colicky crying every night, getting sick to death of it and beyond feeling sympathy for LO even sometimes . Mum took pity on me last night and came to get me and LO which worked out OK - DP had a boys night with games and drink and sleep, I had some TLC and everyone took their turn with the Baby From Hell TM. He slept on my knee from 10ish until quite late, then had a sort of dream-breastfeed when we went to bed and woke at 4ish, 7.30 and then 9. Not bad at all, if we could just crack this crying thing. But that's all down to how little sleep he gets in the day which then means he's too tired to sleep at night which means he cries for hours ... :sigh:

I feel bad for moaning, he's so much better in general through the day but I think 3.5 months of inconsolable screaming at night has got me so thin on patience and compassion I'm just worn out with it. Having said all that, once he is asleep the last 2 nights have been really good so mustn't grumble.

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep and a nice day tomorrow. I've got a cold coming on so hopefully I'll wake up in the morning and it won't have come to anything, or that will probably set back this sleeping malarkey all over again!

RoRoMommy · 11/11/2007 19:11

CSB! I am so sorry about the relentless crying in the evenings. You should be proud of yourself for hanging in as well as you have, I remember how awful it was to hear my baby cry and not be able to help him; then I stopped eating dairy, and the colic sorted itself out, thank god. I really wish you the best through this time. Thank goodness for mom's, though, right? Mine is moving over from LA, USA to live with us, and finally we'll have a break that doesn't cost us an arm and a leg.

Just put DS down for the night...fingers crossed that he's got enough nurofen in him to last for a while! Those darn teeth...

(((hugs))) night night!
