  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

morning lovely ladies

meg, i can see the pics and they are bee u tee ful!!!!! what a gorgeous bunch we all are

tam, yey for your night my love but for the 9.30 waking, you are my inspiration to keep my chin up..... i truly thought dd would be sleeping thru by now, but no.....but hearing your positive posts and your improvements helps me keep going

ibs, sorry for your shite night love. chin up ((((big virtual hugs coming your way))))

meg for your manageable night and tee hee at you not being a torygraph reader!!!

Hi EP and oops with the laminate. i did manage to empty a mop bucket on the stuff in the bedroom and it was ok

Amber for your night too my love. treat yourself to an extra one of those yummy coffees that you like x

our night ok, woke once for a sssshhh pat and twice for boob (abandoned bottle idea as dd teething)
just waiting for a friend to pop round....am hoping she'll take my mind off the fact that its dd's 12 mths jabs at 2pm bollocks, i hate those jabs, it seems so bloody cruel to hold them down whilst the nurse does it, even tho i know its for the best....ah well

tibsy · 13/09/2007 11:08

ooohhh, and a big hello to ginger, hope all well at work and with that cutey of yours

tibsy · 13/09/2007 11:12

oh, and i wish people would stop referring to dd as he/him......ok, she hasnt got much hair, but shes permanently in pink for gawds sake!

EffiePerine · 13/09/2007 11:25

Thanks for the reassurance. It's curling a bit at the edges but not too obvious DH says . Prob was the water was on overnight and it's that lock stuff so water sits in teh gaps. Ah well.

Tibs: people are odd, aren't they. DS has the opposite problem: starting to get little ringlets in his hair. DH says to shop them but I want to keep his baby curls for as long as possible!

Amber: sorry you had a bad night as well. A week sounds about right. It's a hell of a long time though.

MegBusset · 13/09/2007 12:39

EP/Amber/other Islington/Hackney types, can you tell me about London Fields train station at all? Am going there tomorrow to meet friend, slightly nervous about first train journey with LO, and wondering how I will get the pram up the stairs!

ImBarryScott · 13/09/2007 13:16

well, I'm not a norf londoner, but have been to London Fields a few times (work for East London and City MH Trust). As far as I remember there are stairs down to the street I'm afraid.

Don't know what buggy you have, but I find that picking the whole thing right up (stand side by side with buggy and twist down) is easier than bumping down stairs. Alternatively, could you get a train to Liverpool Street and get a bus? Liverpool Street goes out to the street without stairs on the Broad Street Exit, and you can then pop round the front to get a bus.

baz, just a quicky. I've just read a post on another site by a woman that solved her swaddling problems by using those bolster cushion things which you can buy to prevent newborns rolling. Apparently they helped to make her baby feel snug.

EffiePerine · 13/09/2007 13:48

The stairs might be tricky. Do you have a sling? Or the bus option is a good one. OTOH if you meet your friend at the station she can give you a hand

Amberjee · 13/09/2007 16:19

haven't been to london fields sorry.
has anyone been through a biting stage when breastfeeding. LO hasn't had a feed since 9am because everytime i try he just bites me. gonna try him with cup or bottle or something now. am tired of getting bitten today.

tibsy · 13/09/2007 16:34

amber dd attempts it occasionally. the first time she did it, i shouted 'ow' rather loudly and completely involuntarily. i made her cry .... bottom lip wobble and everything. if she tries it now, i just say 'no' rather firmly, but of course she's that much older than your lo. i think taking him off the breast when he does it it perfectly reasonable. he's probably just trying it out, pushing the boundaries, but a bottle/cup sounds a good idea if he's in that frame of mind x

Amberjee · 13/09/2007 19:18

thanks tibs,
i'm kind of scared of feeding him tonight. i asked dh to come home to bathe him and get him ready for bed as i'm all out of patience for today - nothing left!
anyway, LO has mastered crawling today, rather than the commando slithering he was doing before. i could only hope that this was the cause of his night waking, but it seems to me that there is more going on than just that. fingers crossed though.

Tamdin · 13/09/2007 19:54

i'm all outa patience for today too. dh has taken over putting ds to bed as he's messing about (enjoy it while they can't walk/run/jump on the bed!)

would kill for a glass of wine or a G&T right now but determined to make it through until tomorrow night with my no alcohol week.

Cup of tea it is then...........

MegBusset · 13/09/2007 19:57

Amber, how many teeth has LO got? I've noticed DS' latch has changed slightly since his tooth came in, but no biting yet (unless you put your finger in his mouth, in which case, ouch).

My Ergo arrived today (courtesy of Kiskidee) and it seems great so far, so think I will stow it in the bottom of the pram tomorrow, that way I can carry LO in it and hoick the pram up the station steps if there's nobody around to help.

MegBusset · 13/09/2007 19:59

X-posted Tam: DS can now all but crawl and bedtime has become immeasurably more complicated as he wriggles all over the bed.

Anyway DH has gone to the pub so I am kicking back with a glass of wine and Dodgeball (I love Ben Stiller!).

Tamdin · 13/09/2007 20:25

I love dodge ball, meet the parents/meet the fockers, anchorman etc etc. love that whole genre of comedy.
very of your glass of wine.

amber if you're lurking need some techy advice for wordpress. tried to upload new image but every time i do it uploads a balnk screen and has now changed ds's cropped pic to a black square

Tamdin · 13/09/2007 20:42

Amber have kind of fixed it. got pic back beside my name but it's not appearng when i post a comment. any idea why?

Amberjee · 13/09/2007 20:52

dodgeball is very funny!
actually LO still doesn't have any teeth. but he can still bite like hell with his gums - hate to think when the teeth come.
tam, i remember tibs and i had that problem with the avatar and comments. i think it just resolved itself after a bit. maybe the pic takes a while to appear or something.

Tamdin · 13/09/2007 20:53

thanks am

Tamdin · 13/09/2007 20:55

just showing off practising

Amberjee · 13/09/2007 21:16

oooh, i've never done that before

skirmish · 14/09/2007 07:39

damn, everyone must be having lovely lie ins!

4.30am in this house, then dozing on and off til 6ish and then miserable and even tears!

Just can't work it out - have tried every combination of naps/times etc and yet every morning is different! AAARRGGGHHHH!!!

Tamdin · 14/09/2007 08:08

skirmish is it hunger? ds used to wake at4 ish but he would have some milk and go back to sleep (he's alot older than you lo though)

morning all
good night here.
dh got ds to bed in 2 mins flat )think he knows dad won't take any nonsense)
in with us at 11
woke at 2 (4oz milk....can't seem to break this one)
woke at 8 for the day

the 6 hours 2-8 is bliss.

ImBarryScott · 14/09/2007 08:24

Morning gang,

Skirmish - no clues re early waking here, i'm afraid!

Tam - Glad you got a nice stretch in there.

Crapola night here. I will admit we got a decent stretch 8-1, but was DD seriously unsettled from one. In my arms for about 90mins after feeding, stroking in bedside cot for about 90mins after than. then brief catnaps til 7. As I'm sure you can imagine, she's in an, ahem, interesting mood this morning. And I feel like shite.

Hoping to hear of some more reasonable nights .

OP posts:
MegBusset · 14/09/2007 08:27

Tam very of your six-hour stretch (and 8am wake-up!).

Skirmish sorry for your early start. What time does LO go to bed?

Good night for us... didn't stir all evening, then unsettled from 10.30-11.30 (lots of scratching at teething rash on face so gave small dose of Medised to break the cycle) then awake 2.30, 5.30, 6.40 for the day. Didn't have to feed at 5.30 so that's a good stretch without boob.

MegBusset · 14/09/2007 08:28
