  • I wish.

Morning all,

Hope you find this!

for your rough night Amber.

After a few good ones, we had a crap one too. Up at 1.30, 3, 4.30, 5.30, 6.15........
I think she was a bit overtired last night. Hope we can get her napping better today .

So how were all your nights?

Tamdin · 14/09/2007 08:53

poor Baz we're all here to rally round and ride thsi storm with you. it will definitley pass.Remind me agin exactly what age she is, 6 months?

EffiePerine · 14/09/2007 08:54

Baz: that sounds grim . Sorry for your early rising as well, Skirmish.

Tam: 7 hours!

Meg: doesn't sound too bad a night.

DS pretty unsettled last night, took AGES to get to sleep (prob due to have napped for 20 mins only during the day - he was seriously wired) then woke a lot until 3ish (I think), might have been another waking then up at 7. I was keeping an eye on the clock for the first time in ages to see how often he did wake, but it depressed me so I stopped!

Amber: hope you had a better night. Well done to your LO for crawling! Watch out, as they get MUCH faster v v quickly.

EffiePerine · 14/09/2007 08:55

I'll say again that 6 months is tricky. But it will pass . Get as much as rest as you can in the meantime.

Amberjee · 14/09/2007 09:03

poor baz, that sounds like a horror. yay tam for your night. and hi ep, meg and skirmish.
did you check out our blog skirmish? www.sleepisfortheweak.wordpress.com
we had a better night yay. wakings at 1 (refused boob), 5 (feed), 6 (settled self back to sleep until 7.45. yay for feeling so much better today. hope that means it's passed already.

EffiePerine · 14/09/2007 13:06

LOL: I read that as 'blog skirmish' and went to find out who was having a fight!

We seem to be on an 'older but wiser' run on the blog atm - feel free to add your pearls of wisdom

claireybee · 14/09/2007 14:20

Hmph. Well i though we were doing really well on the sleep front as dd hasnt had a night feed for weeks now and still only wakes once(although she does sometimes take a looong time to resettle, but still, progress).
But then i went to toddler group. And was informed that a 9 week old baby there is sleeping through. hmph.

Hello everyone by the way! I'm still lurking!

gingerninja · 14/09/2007 15:14

Hi Clairee, not sure if I mentioned this but I spoke to a guy last week with a 5 week old whose first words were, 'she's not sleeping through yet though' I was that he even expected it but apparently their other DD slept through from 8 weeks I hope this one is hard for them I'm not bitter.

EP Love your latest blog post. (And for everyone else that's contributed recently) I've been a bit bone idol but I'll have a think over the weekend.

Amberjee · 14/09/2007 15:46

blardy sleeping 9 week olds [puts fingers in ears emoticon]

Amberjee · 14/09/2007 16:20

ha ha, as if anyone would have a fight on our blog. it's such a love-fest!!

EffiePerine · 15/09/2007 08:13

lalalalalalala

Did someone say something about sleeping babies?

DS unsettled again tonight, needed a nappy change at abhout 4am but not too bad. The main problem is that he's waking up at 9pm ish and refusing to go back into his cot, necessitating an early night for me - not a baf thing, maybe

Amberjee · 15/09/2007 09:32

tricky EP. good to get some rest, but sometimes you might want to stay up past 9!
we are back on track though. wakings at 1 and 5, then up at 7.30. also, he settled himself at 1, so didn't feed until 5. also i went to movies last night in picadilly circus so was fun. can't believe that sooooo many people are in town, so busy. i feel so cocooned now sometimes

dressedupnowheretogo · 15/09/2007 09:35

lv and caffine drinks dressed pxxx

ImBarryScott · 15/09/2007 10:12

Morning everyone,

Amber - so glad that normal service has resumed. You were so patient all last week.

EP - grr for that 9pm unsettledness.

Dressed up - thanks for the progress report! It's lovely to hear positive stories.

started cc, after deciding that the dummy had to go.

DD fell asleep after 30 mins crying. Popped back up 30 mins later - asleep in 10mins.

Awoke at 10.30, grizzled, but stopped before DH or I could get to her. Ditto 1.30.

4am was the toughie. Over an hour of crying. I didn't get any sleep after that as I felt like a big b'stard.

Is napping this morning after 15mins crying.

We'll try this for 3 days. I'm not expecting this to eliminate night wakings, but to get over the wretched dummy.

Hi all. Amber, glad things look to be back on track for you. Not feeding 'til 5 is great.

EP for your unsettled night, but hope you feel rested after your early night.

Dressedup, good to hear there is hope!

Baz, sounds like a tough night for you all, but hopefully you'll see results quickly.

Our night was OK... usual pattern of wakings at 11, 2.30, 4.30 then in bed with us where he slept til... 9am ... latest lie-in I've had in months!

Maybe yesterday's day out wore him out... it was great actually, he loved being on the train and made friends with loads of people, and it was really nice to see my friend and her 4mo DS. The stairs at London Fields weren't too much bother, I put him in the Ergo and bumped the pram down the stairs (still, at the two blokes who got off the train and legged it past me down the stairs without offering to help).

Tamdin · 15/09/2007 12:28

morning all

am sooooooooooooooooo hungover!
dh and i went out for an early dinner and drinks last night(mil babysat)and i don't know what happened to me!
had 1 large glass of white and 2 G&T's and was very tipsy/going on drunk
thankfully dh got up with ds this morning and took him out for 2 hours so i got up about 11am.

ds good last night. woke at 11 and came in with us and din't wake agin unitl 7.30

sorry to not respond to individual posts will be back later when feeling better

ImBarryScott · 15/09/2007 18:55

Hi everyone,

hope you all had a lovely day.

Tam - hope you are feeling a bit more alive now. Glad you had a good night out though. I'm sure it's worth the hangover .

Meg - that lie-in sounds lovely. And grrrr for those unhelpful blokes - it doesn't take a minute to stop.

Ok day here. DD cried for 15 mins before taking a 2 hour nap at lunchtime. Even though this is pretty gruelling, I had braced myself for longer periods of crying, so I can't complain too much. Most importantly, DD hasn't appeared phased at all on waking. I've hidden the dummies under my bed and hopefully will be binning them by the end of the week.

Hope you all have lovely nights.

Amberjee · 15/09/2007 19:42

am home alone tonight. (well with ds of course!) it's kind of a nice feeling. just making myself some dinner and going to curl up with a movie i think.m and some chocolate perhaps!

MegBusset · 15/09/2007 19:59

Amber, that sounds good to me! DS just gone to sleep and DH is cooking a curry , so going to kick back with glass of vino and rubbish telly.

Tamdin · 15/09/2007 21:22

Baz sounds like the cc is going better than imagined. hope tonight goes well

Meg hope your curry was good and you're having a cosy saturday night in.

amber i like to be home alone too sometimes. Nothing like having the tv to yourself and in only me and ds in the bed!

feeling alot better tonight.
Have eaten my way through the hangover!, watched a bit of jonathan ross from last night (is it just me or did quentin tarantino appear to have been dabbling with the old columbian marching powder!!)
anyway I digress......
am off to bed now for an early night. hope there are some success stories tomorow

ImBarryScott · 16/09/2007 06:50

Morning everyone.

Hope you all had good nights and are still blissfully tucked up in bed.

DD is yet to surface, but I couldn't get back to sleep (like mother like daughter!) so I thought I'd get up and do yesterday's crossword in peace.

Last night DD went to bed at 7.30pm, cried for 10mins, and drifted off.

And we haven't heard from her since !

Amberjee · 16/09/2007 07:52

ImBarryScott · 16/09/2007 08:09

for your good night Tam.

Amber - how were things for you?

OP posts:
Amberjee · 16/09/2007 09:29

ds had a good night, wakings at 10 and 11, then nothing until 5.30, then up at 6.45.
though i got woken up by dh when he got home at 3am , so i didn't get the benefit of the long stretch
