Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

hi everyone, yay for the new thread.
EP - i think overall being diligent about naps has helped nighttime sleep, but not a direct correlation though, and does take some time. or maybe its just coincidence and i'm kidding myself

i just have to share... i've got family overseas and i take videos of LO and send to them. anyway, there was one of him drinking from his doidy cup and i was just on the phone to my grandmother who is 80 odd and she says "it looks like you were giving him beer in that mug". WHAT THE?? did it really look like that? it was bloody expressed milk. i've never even given him water because i'm so obsessed with giving him milk milk and more milk . what kind of parent do they think i am?

ok. now i've got that off my chest.

back to our night. it was a weird one. good in one way and bad in another. he woke at 10.30, didn't want to feed him that early, trying to keep night feeds to a minimum. so tried to settle him back to bed, basically cried until 11.30 and then finally went to sleep. then slept until 5aM! so he basically went the whole night without food. amazing. i fed him and he went back to sleep until 7. so that was wonderful, but feel a bit shabby because i didn't get to sleep until midnight after all the evening antics. but for LO getting through the night without feeding.

Amberjee · 04/07/2007 10:53

he he, i just found out EP's real name. god bless facebook.

Tamdin · 04/07/2007 11:25

amber for ds's 5.5 hours without feeding. what a good boy.
have never been on face book but I too know EP's real name as i CAT her!

Amberjee · 04/07/2007 11:41

sorry, LO went from 7pm to 5am without feeding, and just that 1 hour awake period. even more amazing huh!!

Tapster · 04/07/2007 12:28

amber amazing - thats why I am aiming for convinced my DD is waking for comfort/separation anxiety and not food.

Amberjee · 04/07/2007 12:36

i think its such an emotional thing for mums as well. i'm always paranoid that LO might be hungry! trying to let go of that. i know that he can normally go until 1am without food, so last night i thought, oh well he'll go back to sleep at 11.30 and prob wake in an hour or two. but he didn't until 5. maybe he doesn't really need food at night at all. i don't know. maybe i should just go out for the night and leave DH in charge. no food. just cuddles.

gingerninja · 04/07/2007 13:38

Face Book? CAT I feel friendless, what does all that mean. I don't know anyones name

afternoon girlies
been out to bfg this a.m then had my friend and mum around this afternoon.
havent had time to read thru posts properly sorry
for crappy nights, for good ones

ours ok, bed at 6.45pm fed at 2am, up for day at 6.15am
not too shabby at all.
shes been on the go since 10am this a.m, so am hoping she'll have a nap soon. she cut out her afternoon one the last 3 days and it was a long hard slog to get thru the afternoons
better go and see if i can persuade her to sleep just wanted to check in

Tamdin · 04/07/2007 15:50

hi tibs how are ya bird?

KittenKat · 04/07/2007 15:52

Hey guys, I just wanted to pop in and say that I still think of you, and hope things are getting easier.
DD sleeps mostly through the night, troubled occasionally by a tooth, or distracted by a toy. She has taken to waking at 5:30 for the last 5 days, but I am hoping this is a glich, or else you might see me back.

I wish you all my best, and hope that apart from lack of sleep you are all ok, and your LOs continue to be great

KittenKat · 04/07/2007 15:54

LOL oops - might it help if I say its pavlovthecat with a name change?!!!

Tamdin · 04/07/2007 16:00

EffiePerine · 04/07/2007 16:00
