Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

Another ungroomed mother here - look like Wild Woman of the West accessorised with a red nose at the moment! Took DS to the docs and he now has some baby nurofen, so will see if that helps. Just a nasty bug going round. Am strongly considfering taking a day off tomorrow as still feeling awful - hopefully DS will be well enough to go to the cms (he's bouncing back from this a lot quicker than me) then I'll have a chance of a proper rest!

If I am off tomorrow, will take the chance to do something on theblog (after a long sleep that is ).

wolfmama, am going through a similar thing with dd atm. No advice i'm afraid, but have bumped the other thread in the hope that someone will come along

bagsundereyes · 12/07/2007 08:55

HI everyone.

Amber - the good nights keep coming! good for you.

for those killer early starts Tibs and Cupcake

Hi wolfmama- hope your night wasn't too tricky.

Crap one here - didn't settle 'til 10. Up at 12, 4, 6, and 7.30 for the day. Doesn't look so bad written down but i didn't sleep 10-12 for some reason, and the wakings were looong.

Feel like crap.
Right - off for some ipod power-pramming to sort my head out .

gingerninja · 12/07/2007 09:13

Hello all and to Woolfy.

Cupcake, tell us, what is worse a baby or teenager? Then remind us, why did we have children?

Well, for those early wakings. We had another 5 oclock although both DH and I had read the clock as 6 so reluctantly got up only to realise that it was actually 5 . DD is napping now, lucky thing. I'm supposed to be mopping the floor Another unsettled night. I took her to my bed at about 10 and she woke at 12, 3 and 5 for the day. I know it's not as bad as those of you that still have to produce milk (in one way or another ) but it feels hard because you are awoken from a deep sleep and not rousing on your own, that's the killer.
Anyway, must mop

Tam, love the blog post.

Good morning. Sorry for all those early starts, ours was 6.45 which is still too early in my book!

Well, last night was our first of 'proper' co-sleeping as the bed rail turned up yesterday. He went to bed at 7.30, had a very unsettled half-hour around 9 but then didn't wake til 11.30 (fed), then when he woke again at 1ish DH went off to the sofa and DS came in with me for the rest of the night. Fed sometime around 4, then awake at 6.45. But it's soooo much easier feeding when he's in with me, so we all feel quite well-rested today (though DH is a bit cramped from the sofa, but says it was worth it for not being woken!)

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 09:36

ginger that's a tough night, but so good of you to be humble!

the blog address is

www.sleepisfortheweak.wordpress.com/

i think we are doing pretty well, on 11 july, we had 115 views (now how many of them are us ...)

happy mopping!

we are going swimming today.

MegBusset · 12/07/2007 09:37

The only trouble with co-sleeping and BF is that I find I can only feed from one boob (the top one as I lie on my side IYSWIM) and when I wake up the other one is rock-hard and twice the size!

XcupcakemummyX · 12/07/2007 09:43

to meg
ouch

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 09:44

i used to try the roll occassionally to get to the other boob.

tibsy · 12/07/2007 09:46

ginger, makes no diff if you're producing milk or no. you're still being woken from delicious slumber
