Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

meg, if you can, try lying more on your tum iyswim. not great for a long time, but means you get to empty both boobs otherwise,.....ouch!!

tibsy · 12/07/2007 09:49

bags, enjoy the ipod pramming, your night was so harsh x

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 09:56

hey ginger, there's a lovely post that you wrote about feeding to sleep, but has not been published yet (still a draft). do you want me to post it for ya?

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 09:59

i hadn't used my ipod for so long, it's completely wiped its memory. need to reload songs. don't know when i'm going to do that. too distracted by mumsnet and blogs as soon as i sit down in front of hte computer.

anyway, LO seems to be doing a good job with his naps lately, doing at least an hour or more if we are at home. i'm glad he'll be well rested for swimming, but he better wake up soon!

Tamdin · 12/07/2007 10:17

morning
odd night here. Here's a lesson in the importance of naps. ds missed his 'regular as clockwork' nap yesterday because we had an appointment. Instead of 11 he went for his nap at 2.30 (waking at 4)
Last night at 10pm (after 2 hours of failed attempts to get him to sleep) i put him in bed between us and turned off all the lights. dh and i went to sleep (well i was pretending for ds!)
He sat for a few minutes then snuggled down and went to sleep.
He woke at 2.30 for bottle and then 7.30 for the day so not too bad i guess.
Dh was grumpy this morning though as he said ds kicked the life out of him all night
Again must try harder to keep hin in his cot

Tamdin · 12/07/2007 10:18

thnaks amber for link on blog i don't know how to do them!

Keep meaning to say hi jabber and welcome wolf mama

tibsy · 12/07/2007 10:50

hi tam for lo's disrupted sleep....hope he manages to get his nap today.
keep meaning to ask you, how many more teeth has ds got left to come thru. just wondering how long this teething lark is going to continue?

Tamdin · 12/07/2007 11:49

hi tibs. mum reckons they're all through now. I want to believe her! Think he just has his 2 year molars to get now which will be january. what excuse can i use now!

tibsy · 12/07/2007 12:21

any excuse you want tam! maybe phantom teething, his gums are retaining the memory of teething ........yikes, so i can expect another 13 months of this then? cant see any more coming through, but am positive dd is teething again will have to wait and see

XcupcakemummyX · 12/07/2007 12:43

wish mt ds had a reason for repeated wakings
teenagers have at last gone so the choc drawer is safe for a while
ds and managed a walk before the next downpour maybe the walk will help him sleep ha ha ha
i think he has very dipsy bodyclock
hope the teenagers come back in a better mood

gingerninja · 12/07/2007 12:50

Ooh Amber thanks yes please. Haven't worked out the technicalities yet

OP posts:
wolfmama · 12/07/2007 15:41

Hi all, not too bad last night. DH gave up on his turn as DS was screaming.Fortunately, he settled for me and went back in his cot for the first time in ages. Woke for am feed (in bed with us) at 545, the up for the day at 630.
Manic day at work but all good as lining up job which seems to be working out even better than expected.

Hope you all ok. Chat more later.

wolfmama · 12/07/2007 15:44

Forgot to say, need to share embarrassment of leaking in public. Happened just earlier, in the middle of observed one to one tutorial with outsider. Could have been worse, could have been with a patient, but still, quite bad. Had to excuse myself to go and clean up but still had patch for the next hour. Hope the poor guy wasn't too distracted!

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 15:55

hi wolfmama, i'm always leaking all over the place. found the lansinoh or tommee tippee breast pads the best. i always have a few spare in my bag. they are huge but absorb a lot more than the other brands or washables.

wolfmama · 12/07/2007 16:56

Thanks Amberjee. Yes I agree, they are the best. I did have spares thank goodness, having been a heavy leaker since lo born. Try to use cloth ones when I can, except they're more visible. Just occasionally now go without as seems extremely wasteful since the leaking down to minimum. Obviously a bad decision to do so today though

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 17:00

oooh, i can never go without! mostly use washables at home, but need hardcore absorbant ones to go out.

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 17:01

hope EP got some rest today and is feeling better.

MegBusset · 12/07/2007 17:50

Minor rant re: boob pads. I got some Lansinoh ones recently and was to see they were individually wrapped in plastic... how am I supposed to be an earth mother with such wasteful packaging?

MegBusset · 12/07/2007 17:51

Should add I do of course use disposable nappies so my green credentials are out the window... but I really don't see why individual boob pads need to be wrapped!

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 18:00

i know, that really annoys me too. sure its handy to keep a couple in your bag when they're wrapped, but seriously, it's ridiculous. maybe we should complain to lansinoh.

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 18:01

i tried to be an earth mother and use washable nappies (and they are so cute!!) but then ds weed through every one of them and i was having to change his clothes everytime i changed his nappy, so i ended up selling them all on ebay.

XcupcakemummyX · 12/07/2007 19:39

was an earth mother first time a long time ago
completely failed this time, luckily ds is through that stage
just wish we could sleep

tibsy · 12/07/2007 20:22

hi lovely ladies.
hope you've all had lovely days. dd has been to her first birthday party this afternoon (not hers, a friends iyswim) ahhh bless

ginger, i loved your post on feeding to sleep. didnt post a comment tho as thought 3 pics of dd might be a tad excessive!! was talking to a mum today whos lo weaned herself off the breast completely. cant imagine dd ever doing that. guess i should think myself lucky?

amber, thanks for the complementary therapy page, will get on it tomorrow, dp needs the computer now for his work. will let you know if i can post onto it. otherwise, i'll email it to you if ok?

hopefully dd will nap better tomorrow. i've never known exactly what time she'll nap, depends on what sort of night we've had and what time she got up etc, but just lately, she's been sleeping for 90 mins at naps. today, she only managed 2 X 30 mins i missed them 60 mins!!!

goodnight all. hope you all have good nights

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 20:25

goodnight tibs, hope it's a good night.

Amberjee · 12/07/2007 20:27
