Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

poor you cupcake, reflux is sooo hard. my LO had a mild case of it, thankfully he seems to have grown out of it (though i did get vomited on today for some reason)

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 19:46

oops, hope I didn't offend, cupcakes reflux is such an awful thing and makes feeding a baby an entirely different situation.

MegBusset · 10/07/2007 20:00

Hello Jabberwocky, don't think I was here when you were last around (my DS slept like a dream til around 12 weeks and I thought I had it sussed... how wrong I was!). How old is your LO?

Amber/Tibs, I've started carrying LO round in front-facing carrier now he's too big for pram (yet too small for stroller) and he gets LOADS of attention. Today we went past three teenage girls on a park bench, who all went "Ohhhh.... how sweet is he!" DH had to point out "He's not so sweet at 3 in the morning, wait a few years 'til you have one!"

Naps today were fine, 40 mins at 9, 45 mins at 12 (sadly no repeat of yesterday's marathon nap but still better than 30 mins), we had Monkey Music this afternoon so his pm nap was split in two, 15 mins in the car on the way there and 30 mins on my lap when we got home.

MegBusset · 10/07/2007 20:02

Oh and Amber, I think you mentioned a DVD about BLW on the old thread? Do you know where I could get hold of it?

MegBusset · 10/07/2007 20:04

Oh yeah, and another thing... today in Budgens got stopped by a lady who cooed over DS, "Oh, she looks very happy! Is she comfortable in there?" Considering DS was dressed all in blue and had a hat with a football on it - and looks very much like a little boy - I was a bit perplexed!

XcupcakemummyX · 10/07/2007 20:10

maybe she had lots of children and the boys would be in pink and the girls in blue
my ds likes pink alot

tibsy · 10/07/2007 20:29

Meg bless her, oldies do say the funniest things hey?

cupcake, send the lo downstairs with the teens if you want a bit of peace tonight, they should keep him entertained

amber, avocado is definitely the way forward really calorific too so great for building those lo's up

my little minx took 50 mins to go to sleep tonight she was so funny tho, jsut kept laughing at me! she normally falls asleep whilst feeding or when i walk around to wind her, but she wasnt having any tonight. put her into the cot and she just started laughing, then she kept rolling over. at one point, she was on her tum, bum in air, face in mattress, looking like she was trying to burrow out of there!!!!! shes finally conked out, so heres hoping for a good one

hope everyone else has a good night too

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 20:41

bless your laughing minx tibs!

Meg, this is the Gill Rapley DVD
If you ask me £30 is quite expensive for 17 minutes of DVD, so i would ask around any breastfeeding types and see if someone has a copy you could see.

gingerninja · 10/07/2007 20:50

Meg, I've had loads of he is lovely etc even when wearing a pink dress. I think it's funny but DH gets a bit offended. It's always old women. Think they go colour blind.

Amber. I remember in the early days of BLW my DD ate almost a whole avacado. She did have some amazing nappies after. Wait until they start on peas it's hillarious. DD now has to have peas at EVERY meal. I've had to start chopping stuff up to pea size just to get her to take an interest.

Hi Jabber, sorry it's gone wonky.

Anyway better dash musn't spend another night ignoring DH. Night night all

(Forgot to say, don't bother with the DVD about BLW, just give them some stuff it's dead easy and there is loads of support on the weaning pages and Aitch's blog)

MrsThierryHenry · 10/07/2007 23:26

You'll prob read this in the morning...so good morning to you all!

Well, the little sweetheart is officially teething, so I've thrown waking to sleep out of the window for the time being. He wakes more frequently; about every 1.5 hours, and is more agitated than usual - not screaming in pain, but still clearly upset. I foresee many nights of bonjela and co-sleeping ahead.

Will hopefully be able to chat again soonish. Good luck with your days and nights.

Amberjee · 11/07/2007 07:15

morning,we've been up since 5.30 sigh.

bagsundereyes · 11/07/2007 07:48

morning all,

hi amber - sorry to hear you're up so early again. many wakings?

meg - my dd is always mistaken for a boy. fair enough when i dress her in blue, but when she's in pink? think maybe her hairdo is a bit too much like bobby charlton's !

for the teething mrs. TH. hope the bonjela did its stuff.

EP - LOL at interloping husband. Adore Stewie. How's the cold?

Hi jabberwock - sorry to hear things are tricky at the moment.

average night here. LO a bit grizzly "til 8.30. then sleep til midnight, 4, 5, 6, and up and down 'til 7.30. she's taking ages to go back off to sleep at the moment . but DH fed her at midnight so i got some rest .

hoping to hear of some good nights .

tibsy · 11/07/2007 08:15

morning
amber for your 5.30 start

bags - glad you were able to get a bit of rest when hubby took a turn

We had 1 waking in the tibsy house .... but it was a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggg one
woke at 3.15am, fed for 45mins+ then awake for another 45mins+ aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhh
i just couldnt face putting her back on the boob (although i know it works) as, after 45mins on there, my nipples felt much like what i imagine being nibbled by piranhas feels like .... blardy teeth

hope there were some good nights out there

MegBusset · 11/07/2007 09:04

Morning everyone. Amber sorry for your early start. Us too... LO more or less awake since about 5, in bed with us, waving his arms around and kicking DH in the back. Up til then it wasn't tooooo bad, awake at 11, 1.30, 2.30 then in with us and settled til 5. Must have dozed off at some point after 5 though 'cause I remember waking up and somehow it was 7am.

At least the cold I thought I was coming down with hasn't materialised, think it was just hay fever sniffles.

This 3-nap routine seems to be working nicely for us during the day... just gone down easily for the morning nap. Still, knowing my luck it will all go tits-up in a day or two.

MegBusset · 11/07/2007 09:13

Tibsy those long wake-ups are a killer. But still, I dream of a night with only one waking...
