Yes ladies we've got a shiny new thread to share our woes of chronic sleep deprivation, to hail all that is gloreous when something works and throw our arms in the air when it all goes wrong again.

One bad night doesn't impress us, we're awake more than we sleep cos we is 'ard I tell ya.

OP posts:
Tamdin · 10/07/2007 10:34

try not to worry amber ds always slept on his tummy/side once he could roll.

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 11:04

thanks tam, i KNOW he's okay, but gotta check, so unusual! what's with this 2 1/4 hour nap and still going - woweeeeeee

now this is really going to upset today's routine, how will i know when he needs his midday nap???

what a little champion. i wonder if he'll do this everyday?

Tamdin · 10/07/2007 11:08

amber my ds dropped all naps bar one at around 11 months. he now goes down some time 10.30-11.30 (depends what time he gets up ifswim)and has 2 sometimes even 3 hours. then he goes to bed 7.30-8

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 11:28

tam, sounds great, will be good when the naps do consistently consolidate.

XcupcakemummyX · 10/07/2007 12:09

hi
oh my god i feel i not should of moaned about a month of sleep deprived nights
it already seems a dim past with the colic
the night feeding etc
it just seemed scary to be heading very fast in the wrong direction you all sound very patient
well it is raining here and we should not watch too much disney
mind you we did bake some cheesy biscuits this morning and went for a walk
hope everyone survives the day

Tamdin · 10/07/2007 14:24

EffiePerine · 10/07/2007 15:22

Tam: that's DH . He has access to the site as he set it up for me. Not that I can see the link myself atm as am at work (well, on the desk feeling sorry for myself and munching lockets).

tibsy · 10/07/2007 15:23

EffiePerine · 10/07/2007 15:27

XcupcakemummyX · 10/07/2007 17:00

ps sorry if i never use names im completly hopeless with names

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 17:03

Sorry I dropped out everyone. Thought we had cracked it with dh taking ds2 for a few nights and doing cc with formula instead of cuddles and bfing. It worked the first time after 3 nights, then I guess I let him regress so dh is trying it again. The first two nights ds2 slept 4 to 6 hours at a time but last night went back to his old ways.

Just wanted to pop in and touch base I had really gotten to the point that I could barely function at work - and I only go in 2 or 3 days a week!

So hi to tibsy, ginger and amber and any of the old gang that I may have missed. Will try to read more of the thread.

tibsy · 10/07/2007 17:09

hi jabber, nice to see you but not iykwim you're always welcome here my lovely, you know that. plenty of support and sympathies from the siftw crew

cupcake - sounds like it could be 'interesting' at yours for a bit one teenager in the house is enough for me thanks if ds rolls his eyes at me one more time, i will not be held responsible for my actions

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 17:53

hi jaberwocky, sorry things seem to have regressed. hope you start getting some sleep soon.
cupcake - things sound CRAZY at your house! sure you cooked a fab dinner though.
ds went crazy on avocado tonight - loved it! i think its the most he's ever eaten of anything. bet it won't make his sleep any better though. i'm really enjoying baby led weaning (apart from the mess). and i'm really trying to chill out about when ds shoves a stick of asparagus in his mouth so far back that he gags

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 17:55

ds only had 2 naps today as the first was sooo long ... was actually quite nice. he stayed awake for 4 hours in the middle of the day and was in a great mood. he's a little edgy now, but think he's hungry for milk but refusing to eat as he does sometimes .

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 17:58

Doesn't it drive you crazy when people say "Just add some cereal to his formula?" err, first of all we're bfing (except for dh's experiments) and second of all I don't want him drinking cereal!

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 18:09

yeah, i had so much pressure to wean him early "just a bit of baby rice won't hurt"

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 18:14

ooooo, if I had a penny for every time I heard that one!

tibsy · 10/07/2007 18:56

......if baby rice was the answer, it'd be a lot more expensive to buy and i'd have shares in it

Amberjee · 10/07/2007 19:06

he he LOL tibs.

i'm sure avocado is the answer - let's see how tonight goes

tibs, isn't it lovely when our LO's behave during the day. i've had some really nice days lately. i get a lot of people who see him in the day wanting to trade their babies in for him because he's always full of smiles and giggles. i offer them the night shift ...

EP, hope you're feeling better soon.

XcupcakemummyX · 10/07/2007 19:08

my daughter had to have carob in her milk to thicken it
as she had reflux
maybe that is why she is still mad on choc milk
she didnt really sleep till the problem got better
but that is a distant memory

tibsy · 10/07/2007 19:13

amber, i know, its just glorious when others recognise what wonderful children we have too .........but seriously, it does make you feel rather proud doesnt it? even makes the sleepless nights worth it
