Morning all,

Any good nights?

Tam. Glad it was a goodie. Will be interested to find out how your ds got on.

Amber - hope you've not been up too long!

EP - teeth and crawling? I guess that explains some of the chaos.

ok here. LO settled at 7.15. Up at 12.30 (with DH), 4.30, 5.45 and then cooing and having the dummy until up at 8 for the day.

I am also not 100% confident with night feeding. LO normally goes at least 3-4 hours before the first waking, so has a full feed then. After that I try and settle with the dummy and a cuddle first, but normally end up doing another feed around 5ish. Thing is, this morning she wouldn't settle without a feed, but then went on to take just an ounce! I tried her on water once, and she certainly expressed her feelings about that one. Won't be doing that again.

x post EP. for your lie-in!

bagsundereyes · 23/06/2007 09:05

X post Tibs too!

Glad for improved night. Hope you enjoy being a lady who lunches.

tibsy · 23/06/2007 09:36

EP and Bags for your lie ins. amazing what we class as good nights and lie ins now isnt it?

MegBusset · 23/06/2007 09:39

Morning. Glad you enjoyed your night out, Tamdin.

DS v unsettled in the evening (woke up about 4 times before we went to bed) then woke and fed at 11, 2, 4.30 then in with us til 7.30. A bit more settled between feedings, at least, so I don't feel like I was up and down with the dummy all night.

tibsy · 23/06/2007 09:43

meg for your evening. its the pits having to run up and down the stairs every 30mins or so isnt it? glad hes settling between feedings tho, thats something hope you manage to get some rest today x

Amberjee · 23/06/2007 10:48

hi everyone, yay for the lie ins.

we had a good night - woke at 9 (settled self back), 1 and 5.30 for feeds, up at 7

Amberjee · 23/06/2007 10:54

tibs just saw your other thread, for your dp!

Tamdin · 23/06/2007 18:11

evening all. well ds was very good last night. my mum eventually took him to bed with her and he went straight to sleep in his travel cot (not surprised considering it was nearly 11 ) and he only woke twice very briefly. at 6 he woke and she brought him into bed with her and my dad and he slept soundly until 7. they're thrilled with how it went. when dh and i went to pick him up at lunchtime he was happy to see us but when he fell he ran to my mum! how fickle. after all i've done!!
tibs what was your thread about dp about i missed it?

bagsundereyes · 23/06/2007 18:47

Tam!

Sounds like it was a success for all concerned, then. I'm glad for you.

So, when's the next sleepover then ?

Amberjee · 23/06/2007 20:18

tibs happy thread

tam, yay for the good night. i hope you get to do it again soon.

EffiePerine · 23/06/2007 21:12

Sounds great Tam. When's the next one booked ?

Another good day for naps here, but who knows about the night to come - anyway he's asleep for the time being!

I noticed a poster called Sleep is For The Weak but couldn;t decide if she was one of you lot in disguise

Amberjee · 24/06/2007 07:34

hope all went well last night for everyone, thats good about the naps EP.

we had a great night. 1 waking at 12 ..... and ...... nothing until 6.30

some idiot did try to call our house at 5.50am though prob some dim overseas relative who can't do the time difference calculations.

i heard LO thumping his feet a few times in the night, but straight back to sleep. so great! he's also practicing rolling over at the moment, which is very cute, though he's not impressed when he ends up on his stomach at all. so i can see some nights coming of having to get up to rescue the beached whale and put him back on his back.

bagsundereyes · 24/06/2007 07:38

morning all.

any good nights?

EP - i hope that sleep begat sleep, and that you had a good night after the day's naps.
bit of a shocker here. LO woke at 10.30, 11.30, 2, and then I stopped counting. think i was up 6-7 times. DH has already left for work, so i really hope dd is gentle with me today!

bagsundereyes · 24/06/2007 07:39

x post amber.

for your night! DS sounds very cute with his manouvres in the dark!

Amberjee · 24/06/2007 07:42

sounds like a killer of a night bags

MegBusset · 24/06/2007 08:17

Bags for your night.

Amber, DS has also learned to roll this week and practises when he's supposed to be sleeping... but he does seem to end up on his side most of the time, and sleeps quite well like that, so it's not too much of a problem. We do end up rescuing him from being stuck sideways in his cot at least once a night, though.

Last night was not too bad for us. Woke at 10ish (resettled without feed), 11.30 (fed), 2ish (resettled without feed), 4 (fed) then didn't settle v well after that so came in with us at 5, then slept til 7.15.

Amberjee · 24/06/2007 08:54

its funny, LO rolled a few times before, but didn't really care. now he seems obsessed about it.

DH is in bed, LO is now back in bed. i'm thinking of sneaking out to the farmers markets (yum) via the cafe for a coffee. think i'll do it, as LO had a huge feed before nap, so will be fine until next nap at 12. haven't told DH yet, but he'll have to agree since i've got the upper hand having been up since 6.30 and he's still in bed! yipee.

Tamdin · 24/06/2007 09:09

oh def go amberjee. sounds lovely. coffee on your own with all that delicious food around you.
Big up tibsy's DP. am not a man basher at the best of times as i hate that cliche (although i know some men are insensitive selfish pigs)but honestly all the men i know are fab.
I have also been blessed with an incredible dh . ds woke at 7 and he said 'you have a lie in'... he's given him his breakfast, dressed him and now they've gone to the park
ds was very good last night. bed at 7, bottle at 1.30, awake at 7 for day
I saw him do a double tke at 1.20 though when i reached in to give him his milk. think he was checking to see if it was me or my mum! the cheek. you'd think i'd left him for a fortnight while we went on holiday
bags for your bad night. you must be exhausted. also doubly hard when you're home alone today.
meg glad you had an okish night. the settling without feeding i'm sure means you feel a tiny bit better rested.

Ds and i were throwing some bread out for the birds from our balcony (live in a top floor apartment)when i saw a woman march past with a tiny baby in a pram. she had that look of 'RIGHT i'll take him/her for a walk then!' when you've been up half the night and you can't face anymore. i wanted to shout form the balcony 'it gets better i promise' or bring her in for tea and toast.

Amberjee · 24/06/2007 10:47

well, i got home at 10.30 and LO was still asleep! a 2 hour nap? never before! dh had the easiest babysit ever. had a nice time at the farmers markets though, walked there with takeaway coffee in hand, bought half the market, sampled all the freebies and caught bus back. must do it more often. am thinking about resuming my yoga practice at some point. is a bit overwhelming though, the thought of committing to something again. but its nice LO is now in some kind of routine, as i know when i can leave him for a little bit.

Tamdin · 24/06/2007 10:50

amber. typical isn't it. the morning you decide to leave ds with dh and he sleeps for 2 hours!

tibsy · 24/06/2007 14:34

morning lovely ladies and tam and amber thanks, dp has his moments

tam, am so chuffed for you that ds had a nice time with your folks. makes you feel a bit easier about the next time hey?

amber, your morning sounds yummy. its so nice to get out for a bit and just do stuff on your own. makes you realise how lovely it is to have a bit of 'space' but also makes you realise how lucky you are to have the lo's as well! are you going to the yoga show at olympia? dont think its until the autumn tho is it?
beached whale? bless!!!!!

bags for your night my lovely. hope lo is kind to you today. get your head down later. iwent back to bed with dd this a.m. 1 1/2 nap zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!

meg, i'm trying to settle without feeding too dd wasnt having any of that last night tho

our night ok. bed at 9pm (late nap with dp whilst i was window shopping!) woke at 12 for a bf, again at 3am so i gave her a bottle. which she eventually took awake for day at 7am. not too shabby

tibsy · 24/06/2007 14:35

ooops, its actually afternoon what a numpty!!!

hope you're all having good days

MegBusset · 24/06/2007 18:18

Hope everyone's had a nice day. Crap weather here so we've mostly just chilled at home.

Amber is that Ally Pally farmers' market? I've been a few times, it's great.

Today LO grabbed a carrot baton off DH's plate and stuck it in his mouth and started gumming it. Don't think BLW will be too much of a problem there!

Amberjee · 24/06/2007 19:40

its islington farmers markets, its very cute and the produce is great (and cheap).

LO sucked the middle out of some beans today, and gummed the baby white carrots i got from the market. actually they are really sweet and tasty - i ate his gummed leftovers
