slim and tam - sorry for your nightmare nights. hmmm. its just a phase. its just a phase. sometimes a bloody long phase. sigh.

after a few tough nights, we had a magnificent night. went to bed at 7.15. i didn't bother with the dream feed. woke at 1am for good feed, and woke at 6.15 for the day. i would have preferred 7, but hey, who am i to complain with that kind of night!

Amberjee · 21/06/2007 08:43

idris, sounds tough. i can't imagine trying to juggle two of them ...

MegBusset · 21/06/2007 08:43

EP I'd never heard of this 'reverse cycling' (just Googled it) but it sounds just like what my DS is doing... too blimmin' interested in the world to feed in the day, and def. making it up at night. Any ideas how to combat it?

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 08:44

Amber: it's reassuring to hear that there were some good nights out there!

IdrisTheDragon · 21/06/2007 08:45

Having two does make you a little more thinly spread .

But they are very lovely as well .

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 09:07

No.

It's supposed to settle down eventually but no idea when. You can try feeding more during the day and doing the feeding in dark quiet room thing (poss lying down) which can help.

gingerninja · 21/06/2007 09:10

Amber, for your great night and for everyone else. Our night was in bed with me at 12 then waking at about 3,4,5 and up for the day at 5.30 what is it with this 5.30 thing? It's really throwing everything out of sync not to mention me. Anyone else feel like they've aged a million years in the last year?

Amberjee · 21/06/2007 09:18

yeah ginger i feel OLD.

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 09:20

I am old

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 09:20

I am old

IdrisTheDragon · 21/06/2007 09:29

I am about 731.

bagsundereyes · 21/06/2007 09:37

Yay Amber . You deserved a good one after yesterday's horror.

EP and Tam - sounds grim...

Idris - well, you've put my little issues into perspective. I cannot imagine having two LOs competing for me.

OK here. DD woke 9pm, then 1am, but DH had that one covered. So I didn't get up til she fed again at 5.30, and up for the day at 7.30.

Our evenings are improving slowly (fingers crossed). Where before she would scream until 9ish, she is now just awake, much less distressed, and goes down 7.30 - 8.30. I know for some people that's not so great, but it feels wonderful to me . Although it's our anniversary tonight, so no doubt she'll want to be up partying rather than letting us enjoy our celebratory meal in peace !

tibsy · 21/06/2007 09:42

tam and ep, for your nights. tam, hope the weather is good where you are, so you can enjoy some sunshine
ep - am adding 'all things will pass' to 'its just a phase'
idris - hope you manage to get some rest today
amber for your fabulous night
ginger for yours too, lets hope the day makes up for it

ours wasnt too bad, bed at 8.30, woke once for a feed at 11.45pm (into bed with me) then woke at 5.45am for a feed but think she dropped back off as didnt disturb me til nearly 7am
only thing is, when i fed her at 11.45pm, i dropped off to sleep. i woke at 3ish and she was still attached!!! dont know if that counts as 1 looooooonnnnnnng feed or several little ones

tibsy · 21/06/2007 09:43

bags for your good night and happy anniversary. hope lo plays nice and lets you have some time to yourselves!

tibsy · 21/06/2007 09:45

ps, it was the evenings that used to get me too. could cope with several wakings if i didnt have to go up and down the stairs all evening resettling her every 30 mins thank god we're seeing less and less of that 'phase'

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 11:48

Just noticed that DS's 2 top teeth have just come through - that could explain things...

Amberjee · 21/06/2007 12:18

EP, yay for the teeth, hope things settle down a bit now.

tibsy · 21/06/2007 14:00

ep for those teeth, hope lo gets a bit of respite now,...you too
oh and thanks for info re. liquid intake, was worrying that dd not getting enough when im away from her. will stop worrying about that as well as leaving her in the first place and carry on as we are.
guess theres no need to introduce a bottle at this stage rather promote the doidy cup weve already got? sometimes i feel so confident about it all, then a bit of doubt sneaks up on me and i try to buck against what i know is right sorry, just waffling now

gingerninja · 21/06/2007 14:34

Hope you're all having succesfull days doing stuff. I've got a bit of respite while she sleeps and thought I'd waste it on the internet rather than doing something useful. Then I might complain to my DH later that I never get 5 minutes to myself to do stuff I want to do. Anyone else do that?

Anyway, I'm waffling. I want to know about photos. In order to add photos do you have to be a fully paid up member? I'm on the cheap skate freebie membership and for some reason it won't let me add photos.

tibsy · 21/06/2007 14:51

hello fellow waffler
i've been on here to despite promising myself a date with a cup of coffee and a book whilst dd asleep
not sure about the the pics ginger, i would have thought that you could put them on regardless?
did you save them? i only ask, cos i missed that the first time i tried and didnt scroll down to the bottom of the page, duh!!

gingerninja · 21/06/2007 16:19

Think I've managed to add photos.

tibsy · 21/06/2007 16:38

Amberjee · 21/06/2007 16:58
