New thread for night (and daytime!) chatter for those awake more than they'd like with a non sleeping baby/child 😊

My DS is six months. First baby likely to be only baby if I don't start getting more sleep! He is a nap and sleep fighter but incredibly cute so I choose to forgive him 😂

Lol sorry to have triggered some serious egg custard cravings! Mmm me too. I'm trying to eat more healthy but it gets to this stage of night and I just cave in. Just binged on some chocolate bourbons, they weren't even that nice but only chocolate we have in the house!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 22/03/2018 20:23

Moan away @utterlyconfused. As miserable as it sounds, I do take comfort from knowing I am not alone in this! I'm dreading the night ahead. Off to bed super early again so I can make sure to get at least a bit of sleep. It's so boring!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 22/03/2018 20:42

Argh! Got DS down for what I thought was for the first stretch. He woke up ten mins later. He never does that! So my dread of the night ahead has multiplied. May need more bourbons...

Ennirem · 22/03/2018 20:46

Urgh. I have mastitis and could sleep for 1000 years.instead I will sleep for at very best 2 hours an then have to put my poor tender boob in the mouth of a seemingly perpetually hungry one year old. Someone please send biscuits!

FrozenMargarita17 · 22/03/2018 20:48

Weellllll. Dd has continued to throw up all over 3 bedsheets and all 3 sleeping bags that I have. Looks like I'm cosleeping all night then!!

lizzlebizzle33 · 22/03/2018 20:49

Well super fail x5 of getting ds2 in his cot, longest he lasted was 5 minutes. Gah. I just put him on my bed and lay next to him and he's instantly calm.
Now I don't know wether to just enjoy the peace and go to sleep or try and move him again.

It's raining pretty bad here and DH pulled a face at going to the shop so I am egg custard-less, probably just as well. I did manage to find a custard cream or 6 though.

On s positive I managed to put ds1 to bed on my own tonight, no drama at all, I was dreading it as DH has done it for so long but it was fine thank god, no screaming or tantrums. It was so lovely to get to kiss him good night in his bed.

Best of luck for the night everyone.x

If I was prime minister I would make sure all mums got free biscuits delivered everyday.
(But not the mums who boast about their 2 week old at baby groups who sleeps through the night)

FrozenMargarita17 · 22/03/2018 21:21

@lizzlebizzle33 yeah those mums can get broccoli. Only broccoli.

onone85 · 22/03/2018 21:22

Here I am, just standing with my face squashed to the wardrobe near the bedroom door in the dark so DS can't see me... fucks sake. I would definitely vote in any prime minister on the biscuit delivery!

lizzlebizzle33 · 22/03/2018 21:37

@onone85 I hid from ds2 in the floor by his cot today, I was wondering if anybody else did this 😂 what has my life become?

FrozenMargarita17 · 22/03/2018 21:57

Dd is just retching and it's awful. Poor poor girl.

FrozenMargarita17 · 22/03/2018 23:47

I'm not going to get any sleep tonight. Dh going to bed. Dd still retching. She's sobbing and doesn't know what's going on.

Meepmoop · 23/03/2018 00:29

Sorry your having a rough night @FrozenMargarita17 hope you've managed to get some sleep.

DS will not go in his cot every time I put him down he wakes up! It's going to be a long night

Worlds0kayestmum · 23/03/2018 00:35

@Frozen I'm sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than when your baby is poorly. How is she now? I hope you both get some rest xx

FrozenMargarita17 · 23/03/2018 00:42

I'm still awake. She keeps retching and trying to be sick in her sleep but she's got nothing left. I'm so worried she's going to choke it's unreal.

lizzlebizzle33 · 23/03/2018 06:47

Eurgh up for the day now, not ready, biscuits for breakfast.

I hope your night got better @FrozenMargarita17 how is your Dd?

FrozenMargarita17 · 23/03/2018 06:50

@lizzlebizzle33 she's singing next to me but I'll have to see if she's 100% by giving her some milk.. she was retching in her sleep she was so tired. Then kept crying out. I'm shattered.

lizzlebizzle33 · 23/03/2018 07:02

Oh no poor little one and poor you. I hope she can keep a feed down this morning. Have you got any opportunities to nap (napportunities) today? X

Jellybean2017 · 23/03/2018 07:58

Hi all. Sounds like it was a rough night for some. Hope your little girl is better soon @frozenmargarita.

Not too bad here. Went down at 5.40(!) and woke for feeds at 9, 12 and 4.30. Managed to get him back in his cot each time until 4.30 then he came in with me for another hours sleep.

I'm trying an app called huckleberry which tracks sleep and predicts when next nap should be. Seems accurate so far.

I have no biscuits, chocolate or sweets in the house so am going to have to either bake or go to the shop! 🤣

Can I rejoin the club? 😭

LO woke and cried every 30-60 minutes from when I went to bed at 12 to 8am when he wanted fed. He did settle almost instantly each time with his dummy but I've no idea what the matter was with him.

8 month regression!?!? I'm so tired I could vomit.

tealandteal · 23/03/2018 09:36

Such a bad night, didn't get to sleep until 5 as DS was up every 30 minutes. Sounds like I'm not alone on the bad night front. DS is showing no signs of ill affects though, he is so happy right now Envy (actual envy)

FrozenMargarita17 · 23/03/2018 12:20

Dd has managed 1.5 bottles and is still a little bit smiley. She's not quite herself still but it's ten times better than last night!!

lizzlebizzle33 · 23/03/2018 15:05

Having an absolute shocker of an afternoon here.
DH has started his new job which means he's working in the afternoons now and isn't around to get ds1 to nap and ti let me go upstairs to nap with ds2.

So basically nobody is napping. Ds2 had 20 minutes this morning, wouldn't go down at lunch or at 2, had to leave him to cry while I dealt with ds1s massive poo, finally got him back to sleep on me on the sofa and ds1 has woken him up after ten minutes. Seriously pissed off today. Why are all his toys to frickin noisy? And why does he insist on throwing them everywhere?

Tangry doesn't cut it, need a new word.

UtterlyConfused111 · 23/03/2018 17:06

Blech
Sore throat and cold....
DD2 has been coughing for days; hoping she’s over the worst.
Bed as soon as dd1 goes down at 730!

MummyCuddlesSolveEverything · 23/03/2018 19:45

frozen hope you have a better night and dd is feeling better.

Hope you all have a good night. Ds's naps have been all over the place, so not sure what tonight will be like...
