hi ladies, the other one ran out of space, so if no one else starts a new thread, here it is....

OP posts:
Swizzler · 30/03/2007 16:06

Won't depress you with the details, but another bad night here - think teeth are flaring again, plus DS is constipated (fun) and looks like he's going through another growth surt - they get one at about 6 months. Sympathies tlo fellow non-sleepers.

DS refusing to go down for a nap tho v v tired, griping and wriggling on my knee!

Tonight has to be better - doesn't it?

PavlovtheCat · 30/03/2007 16:44

Swiz - would you like me to send you a tube of Oragel? It works an absolute treat, like magic! let me know

tibsy · 30/03/2007 16:47

cruise, ginger, pav and swizz, hope your collective days got better

lemonadegirl - bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!

mae, was wondering about bedrooms. ours is a bit of a thoroughfare as you have to go through it to the bathroom. still, until we renovate one of the cellar rooms for ds to move into, shes in with us thanks ginger for your input too.

Tibsy - thanks, yes it has! Got work sorted. Just been offered post in a good team, permanently. LO had 20 min nap! better than yesterday, and might have anoter one in a mo...

Amberjee · 30/03/2007 17:36

my LO had a nap for nearly 3 hours, though he woke up 4 times, but was easy to resettle. good little boy!

ruth2007 · 30/03/2007 18:57

Pavlov - glad you sorted work out, I saw your other thread - have you agreed something on the BF issue?

Swizzler · 30/03/2007 19:01

Good news about the job, Pavlov. Did you get your hours sorted as well? Would love to try the Oragel if you have any spare... poor DS is not happy at the moment.

He is fast asleep at the moment though

PavlovtheCat · 30/03/2007 20:23

Ruth/Swizzler thanks! Hours not yet sorted, but on phased return, and as I have a line manager now who knows what she is doing, I am confident that I will actually be able to get this sorted quickly before I am at the end of my phased return period (5 weeks).

Ruth - yes, I have been given 1 hour per day to feed my LO. DP will bring her to the office, where a room will be given to me to feed. On the days he works and she is in nursery I will have that 1 hour to go and feed her. If, as it will, it takes longer than this, I have to make up the time/use lunch break etc...I am trying to find alternatives to this as its a pain. And in new role might not be so possible to do as will be doing programme delivery.

LO flaked out, completely, would not go to sleep with me in room, had to leave as had enough today, within 5 mins, she was asleep . She has had 20 min nap today, lots of BF, hardly any food. She has been grizzly all day, very very clingy. Does not appear in pain but top teeth look v v close to coming through .
Hope all is well with everyone, and some of you at least are having a good evening. I have just bought some Champneys bath stuff to soak in after dinner

PavlovtheCat · 30/03/2007 20:24

swizzler, send me your addy on [email protected] and I will post you a tube . Great if you have toothache yourself too!

tibsy · 30/03/2007 20:49

ATTENTION!!! MOAN ALERT....
so, dd has been wanting to go to sleep since 6.30 pm but every time i put her down in her cot, she wakes up. dont know what the matter is, shes just so restless. dp out altho i've summoned him home and i'm fucked right off, excuse me. am going now cos shes woken again. hope everyone else having a better night

OP posts:
gingerninja · 30/03/2007 21:13

Tibsy, poor you. Hope things have got a bit better.

Pav, don't know the ins and outs of your work situation but glad you're managing to sort out a suitable return.

Swiz, where was the shop you were talking about with the slings?

Have a good night everyone (hope yours improves Tibsy)

cruisemum1 · 30/03/2007 21:25

Crap! Still not hada chance to catch up on all tehse posts. Started a couple of new threads today too re: naps. Ginger - the maratchon night wakigns are a bitch aren't they? ds sometimes does a 1.5 - 2hrs stint awake though they are rare. Dunnow what that's all about?! Circadian rhythms competely shot to bits I guess??! More later(or tomorrow) red wine is beckoning now....sleep well ladies

cruisemum1 · 30/03/2007 21:25

scuse appalling spelling - rushing as usual..

Swizzler · 31/03/2007 05:24

As you can tell from the time of the post, another bad night for us . 1.5 hours wakings for a feed, so looks like it is a growth spurt. Could manage that but the waking at 4:30 is getting me down! Lots of walks today in the hope of wearing him out...

Ginger: the shop is in Walthamstow, so not sure how convenient if you're travelling in (nearest station is Wood St on the overland from Liverpool Street). She does do web sales though, Website here . If you'd like more details, let me know. She's not open on Thursdays or Sundays.

If you'd like to try out a sling, you can hire them from this site and this one .

cruisemum1 · 31/03/2007 07:43

swzz - sorry about yor night . Yes, fresh air is the order of the day. Wonder why lo wakes so early? it's a killer isn't it? "It's just a phase, it's just a phase....."
ginger -did you get the sheepskin? any change? Very keen on them myself but don't want to invest without testimonials!
more later - breakfast time here...

Amberjee · 31/03/2007 08:57

after 3 good nights, my LO did a return to feeding every 2.5 hours, and then waking every 30 mins after 3.30am. sigh. he did have immunisations yesterdya though, maybe that's to blame (got to blame something).

cruisemum1 · 31/03/2007 09:10

amber - so sorry . you do wonder when/if it will ever get better. It will (so they tell us)

Tamdin · 31/03/2007 09:23

morning all. not too bad a night but back to bottles every 4 hours after only needing 1 in 12 hour period. putting it down to growth spurt don't have the energy to think of anything else. lots on today so better. go. Love to all x
Pav fantastic news re job. your positive attitude payed off

cruisemum1 · 31/03/2007 09:36

tamdin - you made me laugh at your putting it down to growth spurt as you don't have hte energy to think of any other excuse!
Had a good night really - ds asleep by 7:ish woke at 11:45 then 4:45 then 7am so that is realy good by recent standards (seem to be saying this more and more ! I am utterly amazed as I put ds in his cot for morning nap (with fear and trepidation and asked dh anddd to block their ears) and he grizzled and went to sleep!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!!! they never cease to amaze us do they.....

Tamdin · 31/03/2007 09:57

cruise what a great night for you
clever little boy x

lilysma · 31/03/2007 10:04

glad to hear about a good night, cruise and tamdin, you give me hope and sorry amberjee for yours. I'm not finding the time to keep up with all the posts, how do you ladies do it?? My last couple of nights have been better, solely because I take her into bed with me when she refuses to settle after midnight and just latch her on and go back to sleep! I realise that this is not a very good long term plan, but I'm waking up in the morning feeling human, so will just do it for a while (famous last words). I think she feeds every two hours or so, but more briefly than previously and just rolls over and goes to sleep. She's in a good mood this morning anyway, and dh has taken her out in the pram for a nap. Am still considering starting her on baby rice soon though, as she looks very interested when I'm eating. Anyone got any horror stories to put me off?!

cruisemum1 · 31/03/2007 10:38

tamdin - only 30 min nap sadly. but still better than pushing him up and down the hallway in his flippin buggy.....

Tamdin · 31/03/2007 10:39

exactly and maybe the 30 will stretch to 40mins then an hour whoopee!

Amberjee · 31/03/2007 12:37

Tamdin/cruise, my LO has growth spurts every morning from 3am

Amberjee · 31/03/2007 12:38

cruisemum, i'm with you. my LO took a few naps yesterday, only 1/2 hour, but yay i didn't have to carry him all day.
