Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bonym · 05/11/2005 20:58

My lovely dh has just been out to buy me chocolate cake and Haagen Daz to try to cheer me up .

Groggymama · 05/11/2005 20:59

b**tards

pfer · 05/11/2005 21:03

bonym - can we swap dh's?

pfer · 05/11/2005 21:09

sshhhhh, it's gone quiet......

WigWamBam · 05/11/2005 21:10

You don't live next door to me do you, pfer? The moronic w*nkers have just stopped here too.

bundle · 05/11/2005 21:11

all kicking off merrily in lewes..home of the bonfire

pfer · 05/11/2005 21:11

If you live in Hicksville UK then yes..

spidermama · 05/11/2005 21:11

Agree. Selfish fuckwits. What are they thinking of standing in their gardens making enormous explosions in a built up area. wtf?

WigWamBam · 05/11/2005 21:12

They're still going everywhere else here ... just not display ones 30 yards from my house making it feel as if I'm in the middle of a war zone.

spidermama · 05/11/2005 21:13

Ahh bundle. You're not allowed to be tense about fireworks where you're living. I keep meaning to do Lewes on Bonfire night but I'm told wild savages take over the normally middle class town and burn effigies and roll burning barrels.
So scarey.

pfer · 05/11/2005 21:13

WWB - want to borrow my machete? It worked for me.

WigWamBam · 05/11/2005 21:13

Hicksville UK ... yep, that's me!

Ooooh, yes please ... dh wouldn't let me go round there and rip them limb from limb. He also thinks a letter through their door tomorrow telling them they are selfish, effing w*nkers wouldn't be very helpful, either.

pfer · 05/11/2005 21:15

LetsBeHonest - only the, how can I put this nicely without being offensive, more 'simple folk' seem to gain pleasure from letting off high explosives right next to their own homes. T*SSERS.

I think letters through doors is a really good idea but I have so many explosions going on all around I can't quite pinpoint where they're coming from.

If I could I would certainly send notes. (Anonymous ones )

bonym · 05/11/2005 22:21

They are still going off. Thought the rain had stopped them for a bit, but no...

troublesmummy · 05/11/2005 22:23

Same here! So peed off. The inconsiderate gits opposite decided to START there's at 9.45pm. I know you are 'allowed' to set them off until 11pm, but in the middle of an estate full of people with small children, i think a little bit of consideration wouldn't go a miss!!

marthamoo · 05/11/2005 22:23

We have this thread every year - I think I started last year's. I hate fireworks, think they should be banned (apart from organised displays). My kids sleep through them, thankfully.

Groggymama · 05/11/2005 22:26

my neighbours have bought the firework shop out - ds1 has been crying up in his room so I've brought him down to watch motd if they wake ds2 i'll go crazy

bastards

troublesmummy · 05/11/2005 22:28

Actually i totally agree. I hate fireworks too, and if the government actually thought about what they are, i'm sure they would restrict the use.

brightstar1 · 06/11/2005 00:02

Is it me or is it v. quiet now?

Heathcliffscathy · 06/11/2005 00:07

thought dh was going to go round with sledgehammer he was so angry that ds was frightened of the fireworks and they'v only just stopped letting them off here...

HRHQoQ · 06/11/2005 01:05

It's been on the news tonight that at an organised display - just 20 minutes away from me - 11 people (7 of them children) have been injured when a firework went into the crowd

here

It's making me feel all queasy I know of several families from church (with children of that age) who were going to it
