DD - first night she slept through was about 9-10 months.

Still occasionally wakes during the night now at 13.5 months!

DD slept through between 6 and 13 weeks. We then went away on holiday and wrecked it! She was then about 16 months before she went right through again. All went wrong again last Christmas when she was 20 months and we resorted to a bit of CC and that worked. She's 3yo now and still wakes in the night at times.

12 months - after controlled crying

Distracted · 05/09/2005 16:52

depends what you mean by sleeping through. Slept through but woken at 11-12 pm for feed:

dd - 8 weeks
ds - 3-4 months

slept through 7 pm to 7 am:

dd - 3 months
ds - 5-6 months

I do think on average girls are better at this!

QueenOfQuotes · 05/09/2005 16:56

DS1 was AWFUL though - he was BF (which I LOVED) BUT he would only sleep in the pram (after being pushed) or attached to the breast. And once he was asleep we couldn't move him. At night he would wake every hour, and feed for approx one hour (he co-slept though so that made it slightly easier).

I was pratically at breaking point at 6 months, so we did the CC and we never looked back. Straight into his own cot, in his own room (wicked mummy ) and it took just 3 nights (infact even from night one he didn't wake up after the battle of getting him sleep ).

I carried on BFing him until he was 14 month though

5 weeks with dd, but i have always thought that that could have been because i changed from breast to formula (i had problems breast feeding and expressing). but he slept through from about 10pm-6am.
I just wish he was as good as that now!

katierocket · 05/09/2005 17:02

8 months the first time but he was about 14 months before it became a fairly consistent thing.

14 days?!

littleun · 05/09/2005 17:03

yeah her mum used to get really worried as she thought she wouldn't be getting enough milk. So on recommendation of the HV and a BF Counsellor tried to wake her for dream feeds during the night.....she ended up with one very grouchy baby, so stopped that almost as quickly as she started lol.
