MNHQ, a word in your shell-like please - about these pro-BNP threads... consider this a petition

hasn't this gone far enough? these threads are being allowed to stand which considering the "policies" of the BNP and the views expressed by "activists" is appalling. yes, free speech is wonderful, but some of these threads can be seen as inciting racial hatred, there are many, many, disablist, homophobic, racist remarks made and implied and they always go the same way. the threads are started to cause a bunfight. the BNP will not get anymore supporters on here, so why be deliberately controversial?

mn is a self-moderated site. this is great and one of the reasons i use it. however, the mners are now moderating and saying that we have had enough. we have complained a LOT about this type of thing - please take note!

The thread is about banning BNP threads or finding a way to prevent a general raft of offensive posts aimed at minority groups.
I am saying that if there is a way to stop posters being offended and endless circular discussions that end up in people being offended then I would quite like that to happen.

I don't support the BNP but I don't think the threads should be censored/banned unless they breach MN posting rules. There are plenty of threads on MN that I find offensive but I just hide them and that way I don't have to see them or engage with the people who post on them.

I think the world would be a duller place if all posters agreed with each other's views.

Offensive threads are easy to hide, but there's nothing to stop someone posting some nasty view on any thread.

I would love to see the BNP fade into obscurity however, I have to agree with Scottishmummy.
Its been said before that even revolting opinions are valid and I supose the opportunity to discuss and 'shoot them out of the water' with logic and reason is the best way to deal with such stomach turning vileness.
