MNHQ, a word in your shell-like please - about these pro-BNP threads... consider this a petition

hasn't this gone far enough? these threads are being allowed to stand which considering the "policies" of the BNP and the views expressed by "activists" is appalling. yes, free speech is wonderful, but some of these threads can be seen as inciting racial hatred, there are many, many, disablist, homophobic, racist remarks made and implied and they always go the same way. the threads are started to cause a bunfight. the BNP will not get anymore supporters on here, so why be deliberately controversial?

mn is a self-moderated site. this is great and one of the reasons i use it. however, the mners are now moderating and saying that we have had enough. we have complained a LOT about this type of thing - please take note!

scoutliam

I simply don't think that is the case.
I don't care who is a BNP supporter - to me that just speaks to their stupidity and general small-penised wankiness
(generalises non personal skills)

I think people are tired of losing genuinely nice posters who cannot take the nastiness any more

As a disproprtionate number are parents of children with SN or disabilities, those of us from that community are a bit tired of it

ImSoNotTelling · 12/05/2010 19:39

She was offensive before the election.

She is offensive about things when she is not talking about the BNP.

If there is an inflamatory stance to take about something (anything) she will take it.

I just remembered someone who used to post here, really really nice. Started a thread about sometihng innoccuous. First response DP "you are really fucking boring".

Once, maybe twice. But this sort of tihng over and over and over again.

I used to try to talk to DP, but it's always teh same conversation, she never listens, just stirs and watches.

I'm sick of it.

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 19:40

Greensleeves...

What did you ask me..I've looked back and I can't find anything from you.?

ChickensNeedOpposableThumb · 12/05/2010 19:40
Hmm
MalsFlannel · 12/05/2010 19:41

No scoutliam it's not the only reason.

THe main reason that his call is being made now, is IMO, because of the cyclic nature of DP. YEARS this has been going on. A spate of offensive awful awful stuff, a spate of "oh sorry, I didn't mean it, EDUCATE ME!" followed by "I'm a victim of bullying" followed by "viciousness"

Lately she's skipped step 2 and 3 (although we seem to be witness a return to form this evening) and just refuses to engage, or answer questions or anything and has just got progressively worse and worse.

I found a post from last year when 2shoes said "You're my mate DP" And now look.

It's trolling. And trolls should be banned regardless of how long they've been here or which political party they support.

Greensleeves · 12/05/2010 19:41

it's right there in black and white dp

PostCoalitionStressDisorder · 12/05/2010 19:42

@ImSoNotTelling and @Pagwatch

One of the reasons I stopped posting was because nothing was being done about people like daftpunk

I am really sorry MNHQ has given her a platform to insult and provoke

GS;

I will make a 100% effort

ChickensNeedOpposableThumb · 12/05/2010 19:44

Has anyone reported this thread to get MNHQ's attention?

scoutliam · 12/05/2010 19:44

OK like I said I don't read her so I can't really comment.
I copped on very quickly to her views and give her a very wide berth.

I still think that what we should be petitioning for is a mn campaign against the bnp and their policies.
Now that is something that I could get behind and would make a real difference.

The election is over now but the twats are still out there, we should leave the liberal and con/lib threads and get behind tackling the whole shower of racist/homophobic modern society twats that the bnp are.

I have sometimes wondered what it must be like to turn up at Mumsnet with a disabled or SN child at home and wonder whatthe hell the world at large thinks of your child if stuff spouted on here is not deleted.

I actually wouldn't recommend Mumsnet to parents at DS2s school.
How sad is that?

daftpunk · 12/05/2010 19:47

I can't stop thinking about callmedave not posting anything about her child anymore because of DP.

I just can't get over that.

Greensleeves · 12/05/2010 19:48

100% effort sounds a bit shifty dp

are you going to stop making racist/homophobic/otherwise offensive remarks on MN? Or not?

Aitch has made some fantastic points on this thread.

It's amazing that this has been allowed to go on for as long as it has tbh.
