MNHQ, a word in your shell-like please - about these pro-BNP threads... consider this a petition

hasn't this gone far enough? these threads are being allowed to stand which considering the "policies" of the BNP and the views expressed by "activists" is appalling. yes, free speech is wonderful, but some of these threads can be seen as inciting racial hatred, there are many, many, disablist, homophobic, racist remarks made and implied and they always go the same way. the threads are started to cause a bunfight. the BNP will not get anymore supporters on here, so why be deliberately controversial?

mn is a self-moderated site. this is great and one of the reasons i use it. however, the mners are now moderating and saying that we have had enough. we have complained a LOT about this type of thing - please take note!

i think she's said that before, to lenin. and the subject of lesbians, looking like truckers or not, hasn't come up again so the promise is entirely untested.

she can't apologise to everyone in person, greensleeves. and she'd pretty much need to. you're just getting sucked into the whole 'poor me' thing, we've all seen it a hundred times.

Nope, would be nice if MNHQ were to explain why this isn't covered by their trolling policy.

If anyone pulls her up on being offensive to a paticular poster she comes up with a load of shit about 'actually Lenin/Riven and I are really good friends and we are just enjoying the banter/debate'

It's trolling and is designed to twist liberal knickers - not that she really cares, but it's entertaining - and then to rely on that liberal culture to not ban her.

Greeny, she's apologised before. Then she asks what music everyone likes, and says she didn't realize, sometimes she says its because she doesn't know very much, everyone is much cleverer than her and she needs learning, sometimes because she doesn't think it through properly and then after a while she starts all over again . . .

Well, I guess I need to step away from this thread. I just can't reconcile a thread about 'Pro-BNP threads' turning into a hounding of one specific poster, Daftpunk. I am not a new poster. I am not naive and vulnerable being sucked in by DP. But it doesn't sit right with me that Daftpunk is being publicly flogged for a whole multitude of threads over a prolonged period of time, presumably as a result of a highly charged atmosphere following a deeply unsettling General Election.

MN policy is that if you have a problem with threads or posts therin, you contact them. Each and every post has a 'Report' link. MNHQ can do what they like with that information. Presumably if they feel that DP's posts warrant it, they will act.

Like I say. I am not disagreeing with the sentiments of aggrieved posters on this thread. But I do disagree with the way this has turned into a public lynching.

If and it would appear to be the case from reading this she's being offensive to individuals or to groups of people then of course her posts should be reported and removed.

Re banning the BNP I think that's a very bad idea for reasons given earlier.
If we pretend that these views are not help by people we can become complacent and that's when these twats get votes.

BNP are loosing seats and votes, looking at Barking and Dagenham this is because protesters got out there to encourage voting and to campaign against the twats.

If the bnp aren't heard they actually gain power and we are all against that.
