So, MNHQ, bedecked in LKBennett (and Boden for the plebs) are all out stuffing pizza and Bolly, half of the posters and hangers-on are there too: what mischief shall we get up to while they're away?

Because I bet they've just left BigTech in charge. Or he/she'll be checking in every once in a while, a bit pished and lairy.

So we can DO. WHAT. WE. LIKE. while the Leaders party.

oh i think she's fab, she has an eternal youth.

BuzzingNoise · 04/03/2010 21:18

Did anyone else think that Carrie MumsNet is rather Kylie-esque? Lucky sod.

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2010 21:19

Wilf and I are in a relay team of enthusiasm -

Oooh I now love that photo, you chatting and Gordon I am WARMING to greatly via the MN party, really, I am, he looks so genial and nice and democratic and talked to Cod and just appears to have been this utterly winning presence. Sorry, I can't help it - and Justine looking all pleased and indulgent and proud in the background.

Bumperlicious · 04/03/2010 21:20

Olivia, they were there, though DH kept telling me they were the Olympic Team - too much champagne methinks

Heathcliffscathy · 04/03/2010 21:22

cocking nob is my new favourite swear MP.

this thread makes me feel warm inside...

i am SO FUCKING HAPPY I'VE FINALLY NAILED MY KITCHEN LAYOUT AND JUST FELT THE BABY MOVE!!!

huzzah and ballyhoo as abetadad would no doubt bray! (mwah, love you darling, you know i do)

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2010 21:25

shall I watch the speeches?

Bumperlicious · 04/03/2010 21:28

That's amazing sophable, how far along are you?

I'm going to bed now, but I am hoping that we can string this post-party dissection out for a while, I'm enjoying my 5 minutes of fame

morningpaper · 04/03/2010 21:28

yes they are quite short good

ApplesinmyPocket · 04/03/2010 21:29

Buzzing, that's a lovely pic of you and your friend chatting to your new mate Gordon! Now that's not something you do every day is it :D

I thought the Egyptian footie team were tourists who had been kitted out in Egypt tops so the tour manager could keep track of them in a crowd When I realised I did try to nab one of them for my DDs so I could be a WAG MIL but they all had their minds on the game

onebatmother · 04/03/2010 21:32

Oh Sophable that's wonderful (order: 1.baby 2.kitchen)

Dyou know 100x it did feel a bit like that. I really liked both of them, and was quite closely observing the non-gladhandy bit.

morningpaper · 04/03/2010 21:35

fantastic about baby soph, but you threw me with your kitchen comment

Mind you I did ring my mother two weeks before DD2 was born sobbing with joy that my drive was finally finished

OliviaMumsnet · 04/03/2010 21:35

x100
yes do they v nice speeches

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 21:38

Soph! Soph I didn't know you were pregnant! That is absolutely bloody wonderful news. Congratulations.

onebatmother · 04/03/2010 21:38

you have.. a drive?

BecauseImWorthIt · 04/03/2010 21:39

How lovely, Sophable!

The baby that is. Although I would also kill for a lovely kitchen, so that comes a close second.

Bumperlicious was lovely and in no way huge. Mr Bumperlicious was lovely too, and strangely unfazed by being amongst us.

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 21:45

Don't worry Olivia - I'm quite relieved actually

squeaver · 04/03/2010 21:46

Oh I was worried about the speeches, but they were all fiiiine.

Heathcliffscathy · 04/03/2010 21:47

pofaced who are you.

agree that carrie you have kylie-esqueness about you.

who is the stunner at the front of the reportage group shot with hair in a bun? brunette, slight...gorgeous!

Okay. They were officially properly lovely speeches! . Carrie so gentle and poised and generous, and Justine all great and sparky and Gordon talking like that about his wife

I suffer terribly from elation crying actually. I once cried at a sales conference, and had to pretend I'd had a coughing fit I'm like Kate Winslet. gather, gather

Well, I now feel I've done the MN party journey - except no Sarah speech?

OBM - I know! I'm so easily swayed, but, you know, they went and he said he was Mrs Sarah Brown and stuff

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2010 21:49

No he didn't, he said he was Mr Sarah Brown

Heathcliffscathy · 04/03/2010 21:50

sorry that sounded crap:

pofaced, are you a name change? thanks for the congrats.

sorry for the hijack, but you ahve no idea of the angst of the 55 kitchen layout revisions and we have found the solution!

so as per usual, pregnancy = huge building works...doh.

i can't watch speeches right now as dh is watching programme about terrorist bombing of airplanes (whoopee) and i fear he would not appreciate competing with them (the speeches).

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 21:51

God I'm not saying again soph I'm being partickularly precious about being incognito at present [so shouldn't really be complaining about not being photographed.] I'll cat you if you like.

morningpaper · 04/03/2010 21:51

yah I have a drive on a council house

It is a bit wrong but when I'm grown up I'm going to have a jacuzzi out the back and that will be even worse

Heathcliffscathy · 04/03/2010 21:52
