As some of you may know, this is our tenth year in existence and we thought it would be nice to put together a list of the top ten MN moments during those ten years - obviously not all of you are as old in the tooth as me but everyone's thoughts welcome.

So by way of a starter for ten here and distinctly off the top of my head (so don't shout if I've missed you out!) are some of our most memorable moments/mn events...

Actually re favourite moments: I remember saying to F&Z that the HTT thread was v. funny and was my first thread, and I thought it would be that much fun all the time. And she said MN is that much fun all the time, just that other people are having the fun.

Oh am so glad that thread was still there! Have re-read with deep pleasure but I was there at the time (lurking), you see, so your theory holds.

Lots that have been mentioned already - I was drawn into Mumsnet a long time ago through the Support for Spook threads.

Then I remember the Life is like walking uphill through custard thread

When GF came on when everyone was in Beety's field

the one where the OP came in and found her au pair shagging on the rug

also the Katie Melua song thread

The one where everyone exchanged their pfb stories and www (I think) had a stairgate on one step in her passage

No one else believed that it was really steve sturgeon posting - he called himself the web master! and people told me I was being silly believing that was really him, but it was I tell you!

I know that this one won't make the grade but the support thread that was set up for me when my newborn ds was in NICU and no one would tell me he would survive. It's printed out in his memory box, gosh it made me cry.

And the funniest moment in chidbirth thread I still credit with getting my contractions going...

I am sure this must have been mentioned but some time back an MNer who was depressed took an OD and people worked out who she was, sent help and we did a collection for her to support. Brilliant.

MartianBishop (I think) started a thread about children's versions of the Bible, and people started doing thier own versions, including MI, who effected a denoument in her account of the death of John The Baptist with the line "Nice plate! Do you have nice plates, at home? We have nice plates..."

This thread is rather 'classic' in itself - brings back so many memories!

My favourites.......... Im in agreement with everyone else!

Has anyone mentioned the search for the missing strawberry toy - I cant remember exactly what it was but a MNetters child lost their precious soft toy named strawberry and there was almost a nationwide hunt to find it

I like Shiney's (well her old name) sleb secrets thread. I have learned a LOT on that thread

Oh and the milkshake with added ingrdient to bring on labour.

Pombear in the pants . I still can't see pombears without thinking of that.

the one about the MNer, the cheating boyfriend and the supposed date at the penguin enclosure. that was totally hilarious.
