As some of you may know, this is our tenth year in existence and we thought it would be nice to put together a list of the top ten MN moments during those ten years - obviously not all of you are as old in the tooth as me but everyone's thoughts welcome.

So by way of a starter for ten here and distinctly off the top of my head (so don't shout if I've missed you out!) are some of our most memorable moments/mn events...

Feel free to violently disagree add your own - am sure, being so decrepit we've forgotten loads.

In no particular order...

Christening of SWMNBN and MP's apology for rockets gag
Mile 4 Maude
First live birth
Christmas appeals generally
Biscuitgate
bottom butter
tim dowling and wife - hammering it out on MN
David Cameron's massive panniers
AIBU generally
Pirate sex
Misdee and Peter and the heart transplant
Is that UCM?

I loved the sexual technics thread.
And also that one that linked to another forum where someone asked for help editing their photo and people just screwed around with it. can anyone link me to that?
However, the Bounty thread was clearly the best.

BlackLetterDay · 14/01/2010 23:20

I remember a lot of these threads and they were great esp the ones in mn classics.

Have no idea if anyone mentioned the killing pets/wildlife one. OMFG that was possibly the funniest thing I have ever encountered, I was literally crying with laughter.

Plus the what was funny in labour etc threads. The olympic horses thread really did make me lol. I love Mn for all of the threads that have made me snort various liquids through my nose.

The moving bits have been too numerous to mention.

Mn fooking rocks

BlackLetterDay · 14/01/2010 23:30

I vaguely remember one where a mn was stroking someomes hair cos they thought it was a coat or summmat, I can't remember the details but I laughed so hard it wasn't funny.

Thats the great thing about mn, it has made me laugh like nothing else in my life.

myredcardigan · 15/01/2010 00:52

Lots mentioned here!
-Arse Doctor
-Tablecloth lady
-Peeing in patent kickers/knickers
-The poster who stated she's put semen in her daughters hair to get rid of the tangles.

I can't remember the thread but the poster who said she cried when she heard that John Lennon had been shot because she thought they meant John Craven!

DollyMessiter · 15/01/2010 01:47

All those chirpy, light-hearted and mannerly threads regarding Steiner education.

OliviaFGSItsOliviaMumsnet · 15/01/2010 07:47

Quint It wasn't me
Please refer all complaints etc to GerryMumsnet
Thanks

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/01/2010 09:23

Oh yes! I'd forgotten the space time continuum thread! And I thought it was in chat as well, so would have disappeared.

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/01/2010 09:26

So chuffed I'm posting a link

SkipToMyLou · 15/01/2010 09:57

I posted it earlier, honest! The geek in me loved that thread!

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/01/2010 09:59

Sorry, STML - I missed it. I was skim reading the thread this morning and my eye was caught by it, so I didn't go back and read the rest!

phdlife · 15/01/2010 11:18

has everyone already mentioned LisaLisa's "pants in ds's lunchbag" thread? It still makes me happy, just thinking about it. (Sorry Lisa, if you're reading this!)

fondant4000 · 15/01/2010 11:56

This: help!!!! DS has drawn sportacus moustache on face with pen and it won't come off. Nativity play this morning!

Which ended up with missingthemountains ds rocking up to school with a purple tash and smelling of alcohol.

Hilarious!

fondant4000 · 15/01/2010 11:59

Correction: The nativity thread starts

here

frumpygrumpy · 15/01/2010 12:17

Oh yes, Mile 4 Maude and Maude in general actually..... that stuck with me for ages.

Christmas appeals - wonderful!

Biscuitgate - so good.....but we did get an answer....did we ever find out whether it was Sarah?

Pirate sex -

Misdee and Peter and the heart transplant, so lovely!

Is that UCM? - my all time favourite I think. We were going to have a spin off of "Is that UCM" badges weren't we? So we could all recognise MNetters in RL Badges please

poorbuthappy · 15/01/2010 13:05

I read that whole bloody space/time thread only to find out there was no answer to it! Very disappointed with big tech......I almost cried...

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/01/2010 13:06

I reckon he disappeared through the rogue space ...

Lilymaid · 15/01/2010 13:18

The Governess thread and the Eddie Stobart Method Eddie Stobart thread had me spluttering over my keyboard.

JackBauer · 15/01/2010 14:24

Oh god yes, Kerry's Halloween stories, I don't even think of them as threads which is why I forgot them.

Even though this years gave me the willies.

The thread may have been funny but her remarks weren't, but there are others just as guilty of being offensive, and excommunication means they can't be challenged....

Peachy · 15/01/2010 15:00

Absolutely anything fo rMaude and Peter, yes. And the threadas for MB, trinity and OJ - along with the Christmas Appeals.

But also the funny ones-the blue cheese forthrush in the supermarket thread stil makes me smile, and amateur arse docror /nativity with atash yes

Is that you UCM-ah yes . And no I didnt call for her banning.

JetLi · 15/01/2010 15:04

This'll be no use (or sense) at all but there was a recent AIBU where the MN-er had somehow caused a problem with her DH/DP's best mate. Her original post made absolutely no sense - cue lots of folks attempting to translate, substiuting names for all parties concerned, and even she tried re-posting the tale to no avail.
Arrgh! I can't think of an easy way of finding the damn thing! But twas very funny.

bibbitybobbityhat · 15/01/2010 15:11

I remember it. Op was being inadvertently funny. It certainly had the word friend in the thread title. Would have been within the past two or three months.

madhairingintothetens · 15/01/2010 15:24

There was one a while back about funny things your dc have done in public, can't remember the details but it was blardy hilarious and had me and dh in stitches, may be in classics?
That booble plate one is genius, never come across it before but it has wasted my afternoon quite nicely.
Haven't been on here long but been so warmed by seeing how MNers have rallied round with Misdee, Trinity, OJ etc.
Oh and the Penguin thread was class.

caramelwaffle · 15/01/2010 16:03

JetLi - Yes that thread was very, very funny.

BIWI - BigTech stayed hidden in the shed

SkipToMyLou · 15/01/2010 16:11

YES! I found the thread about How to Make the Very Most of Your Body and all of its Fluids (I was PMSLBrokeMN back then). Never did work out if it was real or not.
