We've just done a new code release and there are a few issuettes - we'll work through them.

Do refresh your pages though - that gets rid of most of the problems (though not all).

ooh look threads are fixed (no more blueness) in mac/safari/classic/sober

thanks tech

DadInsteadofMum · 30/10/2009 14:44

Just skimmed this and read responses (not made easier by the fact the you seem to have dropped the "(from MNHQ)" which made it simpler to spot responses), but can see no response to the FAQ:

WTF is going on in threads I am on - badly spaced and only the last five posts rather than a fuller history which on a very active thread makes is a lot easier to skim through.

IE7/classic

ImSoNotTelling · 30/10/2009 14:48

Looks better to me... the text box with report poster etc is now in the right place.

And it doesn't go all weird when i type in the message box.

FlyMeToDunoon · 30/10/2009 15:21

I seem to have lost the option to stop watching threads now too. I don't want to hide them just not have them in the list of threads I'm watching.

AOL browser/classic. Still too much white space.

Also still only showing 4 last messages in Threads I'm On, even if there have been far more since you last posted which is infuritating.

Is this a permanent change or can someone reassure us it's all in flux still? Thanks

Horton · 30/10/2009 16:16

I still don't get any new messages showing on Threads I'm Watching which basically makes it totally unusable. Hope you can get this fixed soon. I am sure I'm missing out on all kinds of things I would probably like to know about!

Militanttendancy · 30/10/2009 16:33

Using Firefox and the writing is teeny tiny! Still looks "funny", just not right at all.

ImSoNotTelling · 30/10/2009 17:13

The writing is still teeny for me too, and makes my eyes hurt a bit. The other stuff looks better though.

RustyBat · 30/10/2009 17:20

If you're using Firefox, you can zoom in using Ctrl and +, (or hold down Ctrl & use the scroll button on your mouse) to make the text bigger & get rid of the white areas on both sides - Firefox will remember this setting for MN without it affecting other sites.

Militanttendancy · 30/10/2009 17:24

Aahh that's better. Have cancelled appointment at "Spec-Savers"!

tvaerialmagpiebin · 30/10/2009 17:44

Thanks Rustybear Oops!!! I mean Rustybat.

Reminds me of that deeply tedious story about the sign writer at the dog and duck, who needed to put it between "and" and "and, and "and" and "and". Or something.

Thanks for the ctrl+ tip too, that makes a big difference.

thumbscrewwitch · 30/10/2009 18:00

Seriously, you HAVE to do something about Threads I'm On - it's HORRIBLE and driving me BATS! Is this some evil Hallowe'en prank that you are playing on us?

Actually, while you are at it, is there any chance there could be an option in Threads I'm On to delete or hide a Thread I'm On But Wish I Wasn't And No Longer Wish To See?

tvaerialmagpiebin · 30/10/2009 18:07

Second thumbscrewwitch about threads I'm on, it is dire and confusing. Agree too about removing one, I know they fall off eventually though...

RustyBat · 30/10/2009 18:30

You mean "There should be a bigger space between "Dog" and "and" and "and" and "Duck".

Of course if he was writing a sign that said "Roland and Andrew", you could say "You haven't got the spaces right between "Rol" and "and" and "and" and "and" and "and" and "And" and "And" and "rew."

Slubberdegullion · 30/10/2009 18:32

Oh my plum preview and post message boxes have gone back to standard white rectangles.

never mind. I enjoyed them while they lasted.

PerryPlatypus · 30/10/2009 18:34

Has poor BigTech's shed been fitted with padded walls yet?

tvaerialmagpiebin · 30/10/2009 18:36

Rustybat - PMSL!!! that is just what I meant.

JustBeBuffy · 30/10/2009 18:46

Haven't got time to read through to se if anyone else has the same problems/issues as me, so sorry if I'm repeating anything.

When I click on 'Threads I'm Watching' I used to get the list of recent posts underneath the thread title, now I don't. All there is is the Thread name, so I can't see if anyone has posted after me or not (ie whether it's worth clicking on!).
I don't always remember the time i was last on so a time of latest post doesn't help,

And it seems to show the name of last poster as the same on all my threads - which isn't actually true.

Fed up anyway to get my old MN back??? please?!

Meglet · 30/10/2009 20:35

MN still won't work on my blackberry . I can read threads but it doesn't say the posters names. And it won't let me post from my blackberry full stop. I've tried changing the views and going to MN new but it made no difference. What has been changed to mess it up for phones?

I only got a blackberry so I could MN on it

CaptainNancy · 30/10/2009 21:50

ARRRRGggggggghhhhhhh

There are NO POSTERS NAMES on any threads for me!!!!!

This is unusable!

safari
Macbook

NoNameNameyChangey · 30/10/2009 21:53

My add your message box has gone really narrow - about 6 words wide.

Classic
IE7

theyoungvisiter · 30/10/2009 21:58

thumbscrewwitch - it should be that if you hide a thread, it disappears from threads I'm on too?

Is that not happening at the moment?

You have to actually click on the thread to hide it though.

CaptainNancy · 30/10/2009 22:11

TECH OK- there is a javascript function called 'breaktheword' and on my browser (safari, OSX) it is failing to find the function, so every invocation fails, and as a consequence the posters' names aren't being written into the HTML.
Could be a caching problem.
