We've just done a new code release and there are a few issuettes - we'll work through them.

Do refresh your pages though - that gets rid of most of the problems (though not all).

OP posts:
stakethroughtheheartofgold · 30/10/2009 22:20

teeny niggle - longer usernames (e.g. mine ) are getting truncated in threads (mac/safari/classic/sober)

ShouldntButcherThemWithRecords · 31/10/2009 01:06

Search still doesn't work - when it throws up a list of relecant threads, if you click on one it takes you to that part of the forum but not the individual chat.

Eg - clicking on a thread within chat takes you into 'chat' but not actually to the thread.

THen when you return to the search function all of the threads that are within 'chat' are highlighted as if you've read them all

IControlSandwichMonkey · 31/10/2009 11:05

Is this still being worked on or is it being left as is? I haven't the stamina to read 500 posts to find out if MN new is being slowly forced upon us. My MN classic (IE7) is still utterly unworkable...

Truncation of longer names

Threads I'm On is ridiculous, bunched up, truncated, not showing as many previous posts

Topic and thread title still linked in active convos

Thread title repeated in bold at the top of the thread, makes me feel like you're repeating it slowly and with emphasis in case I hadn't understood the first time round

This box I am typing in is minuscule

I don't like the words instead of buttons for 'report' 'contact' etc

Just press ctr alt del or undo or something.

Please tell me it's going to get better?

FlyMeToDunoon · 31/10/2009 12:08

Hmmm just tried changing to MN new and it's better- I can remove threads from 'threads I'm watching', the posting box is bigger, its clearer all over too.
Is this a ruse to make us all change over eh?

mummylin2495 · 31/10/2009 12:36

tech most things seem to be fine ,but please fix it so those of us on classic can remove threads from "threads i am watching "

I haven't read everything obviously, but when using the search when weirdy stalking looking for a certain poster, it lists all the posts for that person, but when you click on a certain post it takes you straight to the top of the thread

does that make sense?

it still looks all bunched up and tiny with lots of gaps

classic/ie

TheFoosa · 31/10/2009 13:17

oh just posted doesn't look bunched up anymore, in fact looks normal now

ImSoNotTelling · 31/10/2009 20:41

oooh that's better. I can read it again, font has got nice and big again

thumbscrewwitch · 31/10/2009 22:02

TheFoosa - it's been doing that for ages in Classic anyway, since the last update probably. Tis a pita, I completely agree.

ImSoNotTelling · 31/10/2009 22:15

Now my preview and post buttons keep floating around. Sometimes under the box you write in like usual, sometimes randomly off over to the right of the box, over some other stuff.

reallywoundup · 31/10/2009 22:38

so is it definatly my eyesight or have you changed the font size (or have i inadvertantly pressed the shrink button)

AntdamnUallToHell · 01/11/2009 02:46

I'm having a new problem.

When I click on a thread or on any of the tabs at the top of the screen Home, My Mumsnet etc or indeed on anything on the mumsnet website, I get a blank page with the mumsnet header at the top. I have tried refreshing, tried closing internet browser ffs I have even tried turning off my laptop - nothing is working. If I want to look at a thread, I have to click on it. Then refresh the screen to actually see the thread, and every time I click 'next page' I have to refresh every time........arrrrrrgh its driving me nuts!!!

Will go to bed now

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/11/2009 08:01

Antdamn - I get that on my phone this morning too, though not on my mac.
C'mon MNHQ - you are looking like a bunch of amateurs at the moment.

Firefox huge advantage today

thumbscrewwitch · 01/11/2009 10:17

I got blank pages for a while there - nothing at all, no Threads I'm On, no Active Convos, nothing. Just the headers and the ads down the side of the page. That seems to be ok now but Threads I'm On is still a disaster area.

BudaBones · 01/11/2009 10:25

I was on Firefox too OYBK and i still had blankness.

CatherineMumsnet · 01/11/2009 11:20

Morning everyone. Firstly so sorry you're all having problems. Budabones, I'm on Firefox and the site is loading fine for me. Are you still having problems?
Regarding the new code release, tech has a full list of all the issues and is working his way through them as quickly as he can.
Saying that, it is the weekend and we're not at full strength. Please bear with us, and keep us updated on any ongoing problems. It's really helping us to prioritise.

treedeLivingDeadery · 01/11/2009 12:15

Threads I'm on is all to pot, and the post and preview have gone to the side of the add your message box.
The line with start, watch, refresh etc is all stressed out too.

Poor tech!

Buda · 01/11/2009 12:42

Sorry Catherine - went dog-walking!

It is all fine now but first thing this morning I could get nothing. Could only get into the thread on 'Threads of the day" that others could also get. Everything else was on blank.

ImSoNotTelling · 01/11/2009 12:55

i had all blank this am as well. Nothing on threads i'm on, last 15 mins etc. firefox, classic.

all fine now though.

LauraIngallsWilder · 01/11/2009 13:10

My MN is still all wierdy woo - refreshing makes no difference, often makes it worse in fact!

ApuskiDusky · 01/11/2009 16:25

Advanced search still not working properly - I can't choose topics (click on choose topics and the box doesn't come up); and if you do a search on thread titles only, and then click on any results, you go to that topic but to the list of most recent posts (i.e. nothing to do with the ones you've searched for). This also happens if you go into a search from the baby name finder.

nooka · 01/11/2009 18:04

Mine lost everything too. It's back now, but still as wrong as it has been since the change.
