not allow anything with mum, mummy, mama, dad, dadda, gramps etc because they annoy the crap out of me for being too twee.

also anything with random numbers at the end because they are pointless.

TIA

Seconded

QueenOfFuckingEverything · 29/09/2009 18:20

I used to be someone ending in mama and I was told it was twee and hunnish on my very first post!

dietstartstomorrow · 29/09/2009 18:31

Certainly can't call you twee now

Mamazon · 29/09/2009 18:33

is my name twee?

certainly hadn't occured to me that i would ever be considered twee

GhostWriter · 29/09/2009 18:35

Mamazon fine, ditto Lulumama, institutions that they both are.

I think there are some we can approve as exceptions to an otherwise strictly enforced rule.

Tee2072 · 29/09/2009 18:38

Oh, guess I'm in trouble then.

What if I make up what 2072 stands for, rather being a random string that was assigned by another board because there was already another Tee? Um...2072 is actually the year I am predicted to die. I'll be 103.

EccentricaGallumbits · 29/09/2009 18:40

fraid not Tee. It. Has. To. Go.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 29/09/2009 18:45

Darn. I'll get right on that. After my tea. Really, I promise I will.

Maybe I should make it TeeC*nt?

Is that better?

MummyDoIt · 29/09/2009 18:46

I'll get my coat then.....

Can I beg point out that my number is from pointless? I wanted something far from twee, so named myself after a planet of human-annihilating aliens. Geeky but hopefully not twee. Also, I thought that without it I might be shortened to OP. Which might be confusing.

OmicronPersei8 · 29/09/2009 18:47

I can't believe I felt the need to post to defend my name-choice

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/09/2009 18:47

I agree (fecking unimaginative morons )

juneybean · 29/09/2009 18:48

Maybe we could go the way of the other site and all be our first name and initial and our place in the scheme of things i.e. BobJ1 BobJ2

Sorted.

PrettyCandles · 29/09/2009 18:51

No. I disagree. Other than banning names that have one tiny change in order not to be the same as an existing name, eg someone calling themselves Eccentrica2 (or should that be Eccentrica3 ?), and encouraging them not to be offensive, I don't think MN should censor names.

People may be proud to be parents, or perhaps want to make it clear that they are of a particular generation. Why should we be judgemental about that?

Ivykaty44 · 29/09/2009 18:56

the 44 is not random

starwhores · 29/09/2009 18:59

But I've just name changed.... I was fruitshootsandleaves but realised I was steeping on the more thought provoking a funny fruitshootsandheaves. What next for me? Middleoftheroad.....doillyalley....iloveteapots

Disenchanted3 · 29/09/2009 19:00

3 is not random either
