Thought this was a bit of a storm in a teacup and then looked at my 'threads I'm on' and it is a bit grim and offensive...

And other people can tell me that its just words and that I shouldnt be offended but thats really upto me isnt it? I think its the unspoken violence behind the name thats offensive anyway - as other people have been saying - the context.

I think Mamazon's assessment sounds about right- looking for notoriety. It would be a shame for Anyfucker to have to namechange because some numpty has gone Too Far- her name regularly crops up on threads of names people love, and it lends itself to seasonal changes so well. So I don't want a blanket policy on the whole issue- if somebody is deliberately upsetting and offending people and refusing to back down, let Justine send one of her slap them on the wrist emails with the Miss Greyling tone and tell them they're letting MN down but mostly themselves etc etc. And then don't let them namechange for a while.

I know at least two people on this thread have been banned from namechanging
