Quite a few I reckon Custrado.

Prunerz · 07/09/2009 14:42

Custardo, I've had a look and can't find it either, sorry. It was yonks ago, possibly in chat, I don't know. It was a thread about the age gap between a girl and her boyfriend. Having grown up in the country, it was what I'd call a perfectly normal (if distasteful) age gap, but I was in the minority cf the . I was made out to be suggesting that it was just fine for twenty-five yr old men to be having sex with 13 yr old girls. (As if.) It was one of those threads where you were obviously riled up and enjoying it, and absolutely not going to let anything get in the way of a good line.

Even if you wanted to, you wouldn't have to apologise, I don't take these things too seriously. I'd seen you do it before (and of course, since) and it was interesting (and memorable) to be on the receiving end of it.

KingCnutBoredOfDMButWontLetGo · 07/09/2009 14:47

Shiney.... could you do me a huge favour? I have been away from the debate since the middle of thread 3 and I have no idea what is going on (although I have read the sticky on active convos now), you couldn't do me a quick catch up could you?

Please

Hi Shiney. Am afraid I have fallen off my high horse into evil gastro bug. (instant karma perhaps? ) so am unable to formulate anything apart from. Glad the DM thing is sort of sorted. And ah, lets not fight.

I hope I have managed to convey the reason I think any formal alliance with any paper (but for me paticularly Dm) is that MN does allow everyones voice to be heard, and agreed or disagreed with. Sometimes we get interesting debate, sometimes we get slagging matches.

Gotta go and puke.

"slagging matches" - I always though they were "slanging matches" but I am always ready to be educated !

(Hope sickness goes away promptly for you mD)

KingCnutBoredOfDMButWontLetGo · 07/09/2009 20:22

Shiney... I kind of have gone, I just popped in to get an update on how things are panning out over here. I have given it a lot of thought and have reached the conclusion that this is not the place for me anymore. I didn't really intend to anounce it though - more of a decision for myself than a protest IYSWIM.

Anyway, the outcome of all this newspaper stuff feels important to me, I have given quite a lot of myself - and my time - to MN so I thought I would just see how it is going along!

I hope you are doing well - thank you for noticing I was not around btw, I honestly didn't think anyone would!

AitchwonderswhoFruitCrumbleis · 07/09/2009 21:07

oooooh, i think wisterialane should post MORE. she's very clever...

Rhubarb · 08/09/2009 13:07

Well well well, nothing changes does it? You post a differing opinion on mumsnet and all of a sudden the mob are piling in with varying shouts of 'bully!' echoing down the long corridors of Mumsnet.

And all the usual faces too! So nice.

This is why I don't post on mumsnet anymore, it's not worth getting this grief and aggro just because you have a different opinion to everyone else.

Before you know it, someone comes up with a very long memory of what you posted several years ago that they took offence at. General assumptions are made about your character. People accuse you of deliberately stalking them just to have a go at them. The victim card is played over and over.

Why don't some of you practice what you preach and take a good look at yourselves? After all, how long has this Daily Mail thing been going on for? Much longer than the mouldie saga.

And before you all start hurling insults my way, can I just ask that you save your fingers the effort? I felt riled enough by the treatment of custy on this thread to post, but I'm not so stupid that I'm going to return to defend myself. Real life is shit enough atm without getting embroiled in mumsnet again.

Hasta la vista.

VeeEsss · 08/09/2009 16:07

LOL, wasn't it Custy that shouted 'Bully' first?

Jimmychasesducks · 08/09/2009 16:09

get it right dear, think it was me
