Mumsnet Towers - what do you imagine it to look like?

OliviaMumsnet · 05/06/2009 14:17

We ask because obviously we know the harsh reality but we're looking to reveal all put a pic on our Twitter page. So, we'd love to hear your ideas on what you want to see at Mumsnet Towers.
The Shed?
Justine's untidy desk corner office?
Our Studio60 style countdown clock to the full moon?
MNHQ's feral children creche?
TIA as ever

ABetaDad clearly thinks Mumsnet towers workers are sluts.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 05/06/2009 15:37

It's like Bree Van Der Camp's kitchen/work space, and you are all in pinnies baking muffins whilst ruthlessly building your online empire

You all have twice the limbs of normals for your endless multi-tasking.

If we come and visit you will offer us a choice of herbal teas, decent coffee, wine or vodka.

You all pretend not to be bothered when one of your children lobs a lego brick into anothers face then secretly go off and start a thread about it behind their back.

When a thread starts to go tits up, it's a bit like that scene in UNITED 93 where just the watching of the screens at air traffic control is tense enough to give you a heart attack.

Eventually, the troll outs themselves and PHARP!!!!! The big red button is pressed, a thread is deleted. Justine wipes sweat from her brow, Carrie slaps her back and congrats on another job well done. They crack open a brewski before sloping off home to their little DH's for some meatloaf and apple pie a la mode.

Sazisi · 05/06/2009 15:38

I think it's an airy open-plan office, with a tasteful sofa and plants

Sazisi · 05/06/2009 15:38

Oh and it's probably in a nice old redbrick building

nylon · 05/06/2009 15:41

Oddly I've always pictured Justine as looking like the flustered and just-slightly mad mother of twins and wife of lunatic in that old TV show, The Brittas Empire.

The office is a dowdy dive with too many filing cabinets and one computer.

The shed is obviously this place, and that is Geraldine Mumsnet at the back.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/06/2009 15:41

scottishmummy - actually I was testing an exciting little search app I'm developing. Apparently it works!

scottishmummy · 05/06/2009 15:46

wmmc, yikes that is scary.imagine that in wrong hands.irate posters squawking why did you delete my post

PortAndLemon · 05/06/2009 15:48

I'm with the Malory Towers group.

Hassled · 05/06/2009 15:52

No, it's an idyllic rural thatched cottage with chickens outside and roses up the wall. The computers are all edged in broderie anglaise and bunting.

ABetaDad · 05/06/2009 15:52

Swedes - I don't think that and am sorry if it read that way.

madwomanintheattic · 05/06/2009 15:55

oh nylon, i can't get off the floor after the brittas empire comment!

having just spent all morning reading up on ethnography in cyberspace lol, (including some very long passages about how atmosphere and spatial reference is created in lala land darling) i really really needed this thread. perfect timing!

thanks olivia!

Blackduck · 05/06/2009 15:58

ABetaDad's image made me smile, partic the image of the server with a fan to keep it cool The pizza boxes would be all Tech's of course...

JustineMumsnet · 05/06/2009 15:58

We need a pic of a shed with towers!
(Does Alexia count as a posh coffee machine ?)

GentleOtter · 05/06/2009 16:06

posh shed with towers but made with cheese and looks a tad phallic kind of link

Greensleeves · 05/06/2009 16:06

It looks a bit like Beauxbatons Academy, shimmery white marble with blue slate turrets. With a big kickass swimming pool and a pub next door.

midnightexpress · 05/06/2009 16:07

Maybe a bit like this (with a shed)

Tortington · 05/06/2009 16:08

ivory tower in never -ending story becuase its a never ending story

fruitshootsandheaves · 05/06/2009 16:09

I've said it before but I ALWAYS picture you all at MNHQ in the disneyland castle.

here it is I think the fireworks must be a result of Tech doing something with the wiring

whomovedmychocolate · 05/06/2009 16:10

scottishmummy - ah I don't think people would shout at Justine, just say 'well done'

Mind you it's astonishing how much info we all leak on a daily basis online.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/06/2009 16:10

Anyway...here's my guess

scottishmummy · 05/06/2009 16:13

i imagine the lunchtime work out tech glistening in green shorts

all after a hard day tapp tapping

Tortington · 05/06/2009 16:14

shed pub

Tortington · 05/06/2009 16:16

tree pod
i think i have a new fetish

whomovedmychocolate · 05/06/2009 16:16

Custardo, don't let my DH see that!!!!

He already has a man shed with a bedroom, lounge with fitted wine racks, tool room and sleeping loft. It's like the anti-mumsnet zone.

JustineMumsnet · 05/06/2009 16:18

WAT?! MY mobile number on the web - that's a worry given how many folk I pee off on a daily basis. Can you mail me and tell me where WMMC?
