Fancy trying out a virtual personal trainer? (NB You need to be able to get to Covent Garden, London without children...)

EA Sports are looking for 30 Mumsnetters to come along to a special event being held in Covent Garden on Wednesday May 13th between 11am and 4pm.

The event consists of:

~ A free nutritional lunch (always a priority!)

~ A chance to meet celebrity sportsman Austin Healey and nutritionist Nigel Denby plus an unconfirmed celebrity mum

~ A chance to win a Nintendo Wii and an advanced copy of the EA Sports Active game (the one that's like a virtual personal trainer)

Everyone who attends will receive a fitness bag with goodies and a chance to be among the first to play the game. They'll also be given the chance to sign up for a 30 day trial of the game. All those who sign up to the 30 day trial will be given a free copy of the game to test.

Travelling expenses up to £10 will be paid, but unfortunately they can't accommodate children on the day (something to do with it being held at the PR company's offices so health and safety issues). Dress is casual - you can come in full fitness gear, but you can also play the game in office clothes/ jeans etc.

You can spend as long or as little time as you like but they recommend that you have at least an hour or two free.
If you're interested, please sign up here

Hi Tweets!

Tigerbear - I can barely straighten my right arm, if it's any encouragement!

NeedaNewName · 14/05/2009 22:51

Hello Merry

How do you think the Emma campaign is going?!

Gutted at not winning the Wii (well done Tiger though) will have to go and buy one now though.

Think Austin should have done more lunges and squats though!

MrsMerryHenry · 14/05/2009 22:56

Oh, have I missed something - what's the Emma campaign?

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 15/05/2009 00:53

My arms hurt too...

Well done Tigerbear!

Well done Tigerbear! I'm glad I didn't win it as I already have one so it wouldn't have been fair
I had a very nice time, Oz was charming, funny, and friendly, was he not?! And quite handsome too. Emma seemed very nice too, her hair is so shiny...
I don't know who anyone was, but I'm sure they were all MNers! So nice to meet you all (in the afternoon)...
Thank you MN!

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 15/05/2009 13:36

I left at about 1.45 I think. Yes, I think AH had a large helping of sex appeal, which makes him very handsome Emma did seem nice too, but it was a bit like she didn't feel able to approach 'us' to chat, but seemed happy to chat to the mums that approached her, whereas Austin was really happy to chat and laugh with us without any encouragement. I wonder if they've checked out MN now. Maybe they'll become Mnetters now

And! AH really isn't as short as people think!

NeedaNewName · 15/05/2009 15:38

'Oh, have I missed something - what's the Emma campaign?'

I will post the link to another thread - about getting Emma to replace Fern on This Morning - she'd be so much better than the others.

Am glad am not the only one who thought Austin was gorgeous, though to be honest he was the reason I went!!!!

NeedaNewName · 15/05/2009 15:39

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 15/05/2009 15:59

Me too Teetle(sorry, but I like that name!), me too! Though I was hoping to be the draw winner which was a second reason for going!

NeedaNewName · 15/05/2009 16:01

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 16/05/2009 13:16

I didn't get any pictures felt a bit too...wrong to ask really...

NeedaNewName · 16/05/2009 13:32

Have now emailed them, let me know if any problems

MrsMerryHenry · 17/05/2009 23:16

I see re Emma campaign - I'm clearly well and truly out of the loop as I didn't even know Fern was leaving. We're talking Fern Cotton, right?

I honestly expected to watch more This Morning from mat leave onwards, but DS is now 2.6 and I think I've seen it once in all that time. But I do love it - in a Britain's Got Talent lowbrow sort of way. I'm more into worthy BBC4 programmes on the 1969 Paris student demonstrations (aka Desperate Housewives -

MrsMerryHenry · 17/05/2009 23:17

Mars, meant to say I love your website! Great pics - and you're so beautiful!

Just about to email you now.

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 18/05/2009 01:07

I also thought that MMH, Mars is gorgeous

NeedaNewName · 18/05/2009 15:02

How could you not fancy Austin Mrs MH???????

I took a couple of pics some for me and some for Mars - god onlyknows what the one EA took look like!

Did you all see the ad yet? She looked a lot more in control than I did!

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 18/05/2009 15:50

No, I haven't seen it. Is it EF that's promoting it? I really wish I had a Wii as I'd love to have given the challenge a go...

NeedaNewName · 18/05/2009 21:31

Yes EF Virtual Trainer.

I was hoping to talking DH into getting a Wii sooner, but we're gonna have to wait until we move house in a few weeks time - oh well

MrsMerryHenry · 18/05/2009 22:56

re Austin. Sorry, he just doesn't do it for me. Very nice bloke, though. And nice muscles .

When you mentioned the ad, I suddenly panicked: What? Were we being filmed for an ad without our permission? Am I appearing on TV with hair like that???

,etc.

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 18/05/2009 23:36

LOL@MMH! I was thinking of my men's jeans and double chin!
