Fancy trying out a virtual personal trainer? (NB You need to be able to get to Covent Garden, London without children...)

EA Sports are looking for 30 Mumsnetters to come along to a special event being held in Covent Garden on Wednesday May 13th between 11am and 4pm.

The event consists of:

~ A free nutritional lunch (always a priority!)

~ A chance to meet celebrity sportsman Austin Healey and nutritionist Nigel Denby plus an unconfirmed celebrity mum

~ A chance to win a Nintendo Wii and an advanced copy of the EA Sports Active game (the one that's like a virtual personal trainer)

Everyone who attends will receive a fitness bag with goodies and a chance to be among the first to play the game. They'll also be given the chance to sign up for a 30 day trial of the game. All those who sign up to the 30 day trial will be given a free copy of the game to test.

Travelling expenses up to £10 will be paid, but unfortunately they can't accommodate children on the day (something to do with it being held at the PR company's offices so health and safety issues). Dress is casual - you can come in full fitness gear, but you can also play the game in office clothes/ jeans etc.

You can spend as long or as little time as you like but they recommend that you have at least an hour or two free.
If you're interested, please sign up here

Bugger. I missed the goodie bag

But I didn't miss the fab food

MarsLady · 13/05/2009 17:17

It was indeed a fab day! My inline skating was nowhere near as good as MrsMerryHenry's lol

Oz (yes I'm calling him Oz now) was gorgeous! I got a big hug and kiss from him and autographs for DS and CD's DD (and one for me!!!)

Emma Forbes was gorgeous in flesh and spirit and I'm joining the campaign for her to host This Morning. I always think that she should do Strictly Come Dancing!

Lovely meeting all of you and seeing MrsMerry again. Loving your hair girl!!!

futurity · 13/05/2009 17:40

Doh! I didn't get a hug or a kiss from Oz but got a photo which I will show off in the playground tomorrow Food was lovely as well...felt very healthy and virtuous..so am having a Chinese tonight!

TweetleBeetle · 13/05/2009 17:47

Was a fab day- still thinking of changing my name - sounded really stupid saying out loud!

Austin was lovely as was Emma - have already started a thread for her to replace Fern - all positive so far.

Was lovely to meet some mnetters and Marslady, will get those photos to you later this evening.

Thanks again Mumsnet, can't wait to play the game, I can even nearly use my arms again!

futurity · 13/05/2009 19:41

picture taken today of Austin added to my profile

TweetleBeetle · 13/05/2009 20:06

Ooh wasn;t he lovely!!!

Am now definitely wanting to change my name, but it MN won;t let me, all the names I choose are already taken - arse!!!!!

sis · 13/05/2009 20:08

Mars, did I hear Austin ask you about your MN name? did you ask for the autograph to be to 'Marslady'?!

MarsLady · 13/05/2009 20:09

lol sis! No I asked for it to be to Mars. He wrote To have 5 children is an achievement...to insanity!

sis · 13/05/2009 20:10
Smile
Mikko · 13/05/2009 20:53

Well I've changed my name, not sure if I'll stick with it or not though!

NeedaNewName · 13/05/2009 21:06

No didn;t like it, so this is me for now!

If I ever meet up wiht mnetters again at least it won't be as twee as tweetle!

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 13/05/2009 22:29

Hello! Only just got to sit and MN. Have had withdrawal symptoms today!

Was a fab day and everyone that I managed to speak with was lovely!(of course)

Dd behaved beautifully for my lovely friend(phew!)and I'm looking forward for the chance to meet you all again because I'm no longer afraid she'll be a nightmare!

Austin seemed really genuinely nice and I did notice that the cow gorgeous Emma was chatting away to a group of mums...I, was too busy munching fabulous food!

The game itself was great! just wish I had a Wii because I'm pretty sure I could be very fit on it!

NeedaNewName · 14/05/2009 13:33

So who won the Wii?

Tigerbear · 14/05/2009 13:37

I didn't meet any MNers
Where were you all??? Having said that, I did get there a bit late in the day...
Worked up a right old sweat in the Wii!

NeedaNewName · 14/05/2009 14:48

What time did you get there Tiger, I left at 2pm - had to do the school run, there were still a few there when I left

MrsMerryHenry · 14/05/2009 14:53

Thanks MN for a fun day out - always nice to do something different, innit? I must confess I had absolutely no idea who Austin Healey was but he did seem very nice...nowhere near as massive and bruiser-like as a rugger player ought to be, though, he looked far too normal!

SO lovely to see you again, Mars (and I need to get in touch with you about something; I'll CAT you - btw the thing I mentioned yesterday is loads better now ).

Really great to meet more MNers yesterday as well (Tweetle, please don't change your name - it's a fab name on screen and if you change I won't know who you are any more!).

My goodie bag broke on the way home and then I realised I already have a yoga mat (anyone need one?) and the one item which was missing, which is practically goody bag LAW to include...a pen! Can't believe I had to go out and buy my own....
Always nice to receive freebies, though.

Am I the only one whose arms are aching?

MrsMerryHenry · 14/05/2009 14:55

Oh, and the food was fabulous too. Yum.

And it was odd sharing toilets with the men. Rather Ally McBeal. Odd but not offensive, IYSWIM.
