Mumsnet offline Thursday night

Mumsnet will be offline tonight, Thursday, from just before 11pm or so. We're doing a few small updates and a bit of housekeeping. It will be off for a while unfortunately, so maybe an early night and check in over your cereal in the morning?

I'm not going to offer MSN updates this time - you'd not believe the story from last time I did that, even if I did tell you, which I won't. The good news is that if it goes badly there will be at least a dozen people to blame. If it goes well I'll be around to take all the credit.

Let's just hope we don't hit the headlines this time.

FAQtothefuture · 29/01/2009 22:55

I'm dreading the fact that once we go "offline" I will have no option but to prise my arse off the chair and continue with the packing.......I'm on the "home straight" now - but it's at the stage where it just looks like a bloody mess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ooh, innit posh? You see in may day there was none of this fancy biznizz. That woman's husband always used to bang on about how amateurish it was. Eee them were the days (wanders off.)

sherby · 30/01/2009 07:26

The text is sooooo small, on active convos I can hardly read the topic names they are tiny

psychomum5 · 30/01/2009 07:55
fryalot · 30/01/2009 07:58

ok. It's all right. \If I could just move that advert over there >>> and make the spaces a bit wider (have you any idea how small this all is on a netbook????) and budge that up there a bit ^ and lose that bit.

Yeah, I'll like it then

(how do I switch back to classic? )

SoupDragon · 30/01/2009 08:00

Pretty shoddy all round if you ask me. You can't have "new" colours with the old layout for active conversations it would seem and on the new colours the "link you've visited" is virtually the same colour as an unvisited link.

troutpout · 30/01/2009 08:01

errrm...can't see any difference...what did they do?

was it 'man housekeeping' by any chance?

...errm there are spaces inbetween the lines perhaps?
Maybe it doesn't show up on mn classic.

Actually ,I'm not the most observant of souls

fryalot · 30/01/2009 08:03

oh yes, it's different again when you change your settings to the "new" thingy.

Not sure about the link colours though... will wait and see.

Whatever I think in the end, though, it must have been a HUGE amount of work, so bloody well done
