In a flurry of forward planning we're thinking ahead to January and would like to know your New Year resolutions (as long as they don't include spending less time on MN ). Thank you in advance.

I don't really bother with resolutions because I'm too hung-over on New Years Day to remember to start them, then I feel a failure as well as the usual PDGs

To be less hard on myself, stop expecting perfection which leaves me stressed out and fed up, and realise that sometimes "good enough" is perfectly fine.

To finish my AAT examinations

To lose weight and feel better

To start DD at a dancing school, one where she can boogie, meet new people and have fun, because I love her and she deserves something special (she does love wiggling her bum).

my new years resolution is usually not to make new year's resolutions. Why bother - mostly people drop them when they get difficult, then feel like failures.

If you must make New Year Resolutions make ones like eating chocolate at least once a week - then you'll keep it and be happy.

Must resolve to spend less time on mumsnet.....

This year I am not going to allow the box of Christmas decorations live on the bottom return of the stairs for the whole year

Still I suppose it saves on a expedition to the loft to find them......

Give up smoking (again)
Loose weight (again)
Become more obsessive about housework (that would be a first)
Become more obsessive about the garden (another first)

I think that will do, I don't want to spend my whole year failing to manage my new years resolutions

Stop shopping at Primark - not particularly for ethical reasons, I'm just fed up of wearing cheap tat.

Stick to my budget.
Make a HUGE effort to make friends when I start uni in Feb.
Start reading every page in the paper, (not just the G2 section, the front page and the weather!)

To stop fucking swearing while cooking, I'm morphing into Gordon Ramsey

To let all the inlaws nonsense wash over me and not bother to respond at all in 2009.
