Why so much hate on MN?
Posters hiding behind complaints about the government, presenting themselves as reasonable actors, to push hate about asylum seekers, people with disabilities, benefit claimants..Mostly the same names all day everyday.
I am told to report - MN just not interested.
I am told to hide the thread..
Why isn't moderation better?
I know this will always exist and exists on other platforms but MN makes no effort to even try to anything about it.
You can't really sell MN as a caring, supportive site with all this stuff offered on a daily basis in active.

Are you going to condemn the digs about people's mental health too, or is that acceptable?

I have several RL friends that I initially met on MN. Technology allows us to connect with people in new ways; additional rather than instead of. Having a life and friends can be achieved in lots of ways, and none is better than another. Two of my friends who are married met via OLD, so sneering at starting out online is a bit off. As long as you follow guidelines for managing online to RL, it's perfectly safe.

I know that some Reform types think it is OK to clobber women they don't agree with, though.

Why would paying for premium matter? It’s just to avoid ads isn’t it.

It has simply dawned on me - somewhat belatedly, I admit - that some MNers are worth more to MNHQ than others.

It's a fiver a month to dodgy ads, not a big deal. Personally I can't justify that cost, but we're all free to make our own choices. I prioritise my posh coffee habit.

I doubt mnhq cross check who stumps up a fiver each month.

They probably wouldn't even need to cross check, it will be on the person's account, in the same way as mnhq know all the user names a person has. Mnhq can see a lot from their side as pip once told me.
