Why so much hate on MN?
Posters hiding behind complaints about the government, presenting themselves as reasonable actors, to push hate about asylum seekers, people with disabilities, benefit claimants..Mostly the same names all day everyday.
I am told to report - MN just not interested.
I am told to hide the thread..
Why isn't moderation better?
I know this will always exist and exists on other platforms but MN makes no effort to even try to anything about it.
You can't really sell MN as a caring, supportive site with all this stuff offered on a daily basis in active.

As long as one is extremely choosy about who one shares one's number with it, it is safe enough I would think. There used to be regular MN meet ups back in the day, although that was before my time. I think there used to be a Secret Santa too.

We are back to the frequency with which other posters must be here to be noticing posting habits. I did have one very bizarre encounter with somebody who counted how many times and how often I posted on a particular thread. Totally missing the point I was being quoted in quick succession, by a series of people.

It's not unusual these days for friendships to begin online. Even marriages! Especially amongst younger people. My lovely niece met her husband online and they're blissfully happy.

Well there is that. The repeated quoting. I ignore a lot as it’s as someone said on another thread like the Arabian sand analogy. But still.

Yes scroll on by. It helps. Then posters get annoyed at the avoiding but it really does help.
