Why so much hate on MN?
Posters hiding behind complaints about the government, presenting themselves as reasonable actors, to push hate about asylum seekers, people with disabilities, benefit claimants..Mostly the same names all day everyday.
I am told to report - MN just not interested.
I am told to hide the thread..
Why isn't moderation better?
I know this will always exist and exists on other platforms but MN makes no effort to even try to anything about it.
You can't really sell MN as a caring, supportive site with all this stuff offered on a daily basis in active.

MN is a business at the end of the day.

I'm just trying to understand why their moderation decisions are so inconsistent, and a new angle emerged that I had not previously considered.

Well I don’t pay so apparently I don’t get this supposed skewed moderation. I think the idea is baseless.

But also it is a business so anyone posting is earning a forum money, if the moderation or whatever isn’t wanted the best thing to look elsewhere and earn another site money instead.

I prefer mumsnet over other platforms. But not the rise in hate we have seen recently. I won't let it drive me from a site I enjoy.

I did actually delete my old account because of the poor moderation, but I came back because I couldn't find a decent alternative. I don't like the format of Reddit, for example.

I am still quite attached to what MN used to be, but I don't really like what it has become. I do think it's toxic and I think the quality of the moderation is poor - if they aren't actually going to tackle hate and disinformation on the site, then I wish they would just cut back the moderation altogether and limit it to deleting anything illegal or defamatory etc. That would at least be clear and consistent. However, it doesn't look like they're going to do that.

Unfortunately, MN has become an unhealthy habit and I have become somewhat addicted! I do think it's bad for my mental health to see so much hateful content effectively being sanctioned by the moderators. So I continue to ponder what to do with my account.

Have you not heard of the premium membership? I'm not sure whether I'm flattered or freaked out by the attention I seem to attract. Damn, I've just gone against my intentions of ignoring certain usernames.

I don't know why these people can't seem to accept the FORUM doesn't revolve around them. Telling mods they aren't trained adequately is beyond the height of arrogance. I've gone from being everyone from Reform to Katie Hopkins. Fucking hell, the level of intolerance is off the scale. Shoot me, I pay premium because I don't want ads. Every single word I say is scrutinised and fuck all is done about this obsession. I certainly have a reason to question what's going on with moderation. I mistakingly replied to the poster. It won't be happening again.

Well the people believing it only have to scroll back on this thread and see moderation did occur with one of your posts (which I wasn’t sure about but so be it). A fiver a month isn’t it.

I haven't seen it bit I'm going to be getting in touch by email. Enough is enough.

I have seen Fox being deleted plenty of times, i don't think there is two tier moderation either.

Perhaps they can clarify on this thread as some really do seem to think it’s the case.

I am more concerned about new names starting controversial threads in AIBU, Chat or Politics and then disappearing again.
