I am really curious at the originality of some names- just HOW did you choose your name?

I'll go first- I thought it might make me appear approachable and friendly- and it is also very anonymous- rather than including my initials or anything like that.

Teafortwo, I'm in the Nord Pas-de-Calais (not from Bergues if you have seen the Dany Boon movie).

DiscoDizzy · 09/06/2008 21:03

Used to babyblue (don't know why) but changed to discodizzy because I am very very dizzy (DH calls me dizzy) and i'd been out dancing the night before.

Used a version of my own name for a couple of months before I realised you didn't have to, then swapped to DDs nickname.
Then DD got older and her nickname got better known amoungst people I knew, plus another, more prolific, poster joined with a similar-but-different name and I didn't want people to think I'd half inched her's so I changed to this (which is the name of a Firefly class spaceship from a defunct, but genius series by Joss Whedon not my usual state of mind)

mistypeaks · 10/06/2008 09:27

Mine has been my nickname for years. When I was 18ish me and a group of friends were sitting around drunkenly wondering who we were in a parallel universe and what we were called. One of the guys (who came up with nearly all of the alter egos) decided I was a stripper called MistyPeaks!!
It stuck with me. I have even received post from an old work colleague addressed to Misty Peaks
I name changed a while back to my fave character from a book - but it was just really lame. I am Misty. So back I came!!

teafortwo · 10/06/2008 10:52

Wow - othersideofthechannel, living in Nord Pas-de-Calais you really are just over the other side of the channel! Great name! How long have you lived there? Do your children feel French? Was it a planned move or did you, rather romantically, simply end up living in France? And have I asked too many questions? he he he!!!

Othersideofthechannel · 10/06/2008 11:07

Teafortwo, I am going to start you a thread in living overseas otherwise we might get accused of hijacking.

Othersideofthechannel · 10/06/2008 11:16

I've done it, hop over there if you want to satisfy your curiosity!

teafortwo · 10/06/2008 13:57

oooh - thanks othersideofthechannel - highjacking sounds horrible - I don't want to do that!

overthemill · 10/06/2008 16:26
