Is it just my PC or is Mumsnet slower lately?

Pages are taking ages to load/refresh....

I may end up internet shopping while I'm waiting and will have to ask Mnet to fit the bill for any Jimmy Choos I may order.....

It's driving me nuts! Will try finding an ad blocker, because I can barely use the site atm.

I've tried to instal it but with no luck. Is it because I'm using a Mac?

Yabba I use a mac too. I followed the link and it worked a treat.

ive given in and added the blocker too

i have used firefox foir years but never had the blocker

but after all the discussions with mnhq over ads i have decided its the only way

Im findin g it equally slow on firefox or internet explorer so am off to watch Tv instead. I keep getting blank pages.

Have installed Adblocker..mumsnet speeded up a bit but still having issues?

I can actually load the page now I've got adblocker - I know MN wanted us to see the ads, but I couldn't see them because they were crashing the page, couldn't load any MN pages!

ooooh, I remember in the days I was working for a laaaarge internet media firm, and there was this fussball tournament we had to attend (all in good spirit of course) and the doubleclick girls attended with t-shirts saying "Click" where one could imagine their nipples were..... So in essence, doubleclick ... Tasty.... [hmmm]

God it has just taken over 1 minute to load this thread. All other sites are loading really quickly, so I know that it's only Mumsnet. I can't be doing with this.

That was YetMoreTech, who seemed to get a little bit tetchy about the whole thing. OriginalTech is not around any more but surely there is someone called BigTech who could be helpful?

I haven't had any problems on MN but other sites sometimes run a bit slow so I downloaded the firefox add-on south linked to...but NOW MN is slow.

So is it the firefox add-on doing something strange or have the MN problems just finally caught up with me?

I'm loathe to install adblocker because I'm very conscious that that's how MN makes its money but ...this is getting ridiculous. BBC, google, everything else is fine. Seasons change, sea levels rise, tumbleweed rolls past etc while I wait for a page to load.

Off to redecorate the entire house and do my nails while I wait for my post to appear now...
