Please remove me from the infinite scroll test group.

Can I please be removed from the test group and have my account moved back to the paginated version? I really dislike the infinite scrolling, it makes it much harder to navigate the threads and means I end up leaving threads and not engaging with the site. I would have appreciated a heads up that I was being placed in a test group and how to opt out instead of being left to struggle with a frustrating and unnecessary change.

Does that mean you're still planning to add other people @HebeMumsnet ? How long is the test going to run for?

Morning, everyone. We've added everyone who's asked up to this point to the list to be removed. So that should be happening shortly.

Thanks @HebeMumsnet but can I ask again how long the planned test of this feature is going to continue for? This thread started in April so it's been four months. Do you think you don't have enough data yet?

Please remove me too. It’s made the site unusable - threads won’t load for me at all, or. they go blank partway down. Adverts often don’t load properly and go on for ever down the page.

I managed to remove myself by responding to posts on the dreaded infinite scrolling but when there were updates my email notifications came via a roundlooking email notification that was pages or regular email which was scrolling. So I logged back in to pages and realised that there was a download option. Top right I think! I still have the dreaded infinite scrolling option but I don't engage with it at all.
I am happily now back to pages!
So life is good and back to normal 😌

We do have lots of data now and generally speaking it shows that many people are finding the experience useful.

However, we do understand that it isn't for everyone so we will be implementing a setting so that people can permanently set their view to pages rather than 'see all'. We hope that's good news for everyone here who hasn't got on well with infinite scroll.

We are also making changes based on the feedback we've received here so the experience will hopefully be improved. This won't be immediate but we are working on it as we speak so it should be implemented very soon.

@HebeMumsnet People find the experience useful - what does that mean? Useful to know that they vastly prefer pages to infinite scroll? I’ve seen only a handful on here who have posted positively about infinite scroll. It’s a big reason I stick to the website and never use the app because last I checked it only has infinite scroll.

You have still not revealed why you did this at all, what advantage it has to you, and why you didn't ask people before changing their settings without telling them what you had done so that they thought the board had broken. I think the arbitrary nature of the exercise is what has made me so opposed to the idea in any shape or form.

I ask again: What was the point of this exercise?

If some posters have not found this thread (or, I assume, others like it) and have simply given up bothering to read pageless threads or to try to post on them because they find the experience unpleasant, would you know this if they did not actually leave the board completely, just remained a member but did not use it any more?

How did you collect the data, and how did the posters tell you that they find it useful? Did you ask for feedback? Because you didn't ask me. And I find it hard to believe that more than 26 pages worth of posters have gone out of their way to email you to say "hey I find this really useful".
Or is it just a lack of complaint that you are equating to a positive reaction?

Please please take me off this ASAP. I want to be a bit more stylish and a bit more beautiful but no way can I cope with the way Style and Beauty is being presented/
