Please remove me from the infinite scroll test group.

Can I please be removed from the test group and have my account moved back to the paginated version? I really dislike the infinite scrolling, it makes it much harder to navigate the threads and means I end up leaving threads and not engaging with the site. I would have appreciated a heads up that I was being placed in a test group and how to opt out instead of being left to struggle with a frustrating and unnecessary change.

I know I’ve said this before, but honestly, what is it you’re still testing? You’ve been running this test since at least early May to my knowledge and the reaction has been universally negative. Isn’t the point of a test to see how users react before implementing something permanently? What are you still waiting to find out?

HebeMumsnet · 16/06/2025 11:42

Thanks @Boing98 and @Mirrorxxx . We'll add you to the list to be removed.

And what are the benefits to Mumsnet of this particular way of navigating the board? it didn't seem to me to be broke, so why fix it?

I've asked this too but never got a reply...

TwoUnderTwitTwoo · 16/06/2025 23:46

Can I please be removed from the infinite scroll? It is too difficult to follow threads.

Br1ll1ant · 17/06/2025 12:25

Please can I ask what is taking so long to change this for me. This feature really does make the site difficult to use.

IOnlyWantSexMoneyPowerAndRevenge · 17/06/2025 16:39

Well this is a success. 🤣

HebeMumsnet · 18/06/2025 10:09

@TwoUnderTwitTwoo and @Br1ll1ant we've added you both to the list to be removed.

CafeRose · 20/06/2025 12:52

Can I also be removed from the infinite scroll please?

JoMumsnet · 20/06/2025 13:27

@CafeRose yes of course, we'll sort that for you.

AuntyBulgaria · 23/06/2025 19:24

Please can I also be removed from the infinite scroll so page numbers come back. Thank you.

HebeMumsnet · 25/06/2025 11:17

We can see a few of you have been asking about the infinite scroll test in general and what our future plans are, so here's a bit more information that might help.

The test is currently live for a relatively small portion of our users, and early data shows that some are finding the new experience helpful - though we recognise it's not everyone’s preferred way to scroll. We're carefully reviewing all the feedback and data to ensure we're making the right call before considering a broader rollout.

That said, we know there’s room for improvement. If the data supports moving forward with it, we’ll focus on enhancements based on your feedback - such as adding markers to show your place in the thread, improving the posting flow so you don’t need to scroll to the bottom, and introducing clearer “jump to top/bottom” buttons.

If we do expand the rollout, before we do so we would also add a setting that allows you to keep the current paged view if that’s your preference.

Hope that's informative and thanks again for your patience and feedback!

Please can you remove me from this test group. It’s driving me mad and just for this thread took ages to get to the end to post.

Please please Remove Me 🙏

What are the benefits compared to the current system? You say some are finding it helpful and that you’re trying to improve certain things, but why was an alternative needed in the first place?

dapsnotplimsolls · 26/06/2025 20:56

I'd love to know why some people like it.

thaegumathteth · 26/06/2025 21:38

Oh remove me too please

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 26/06/2025 21:50

I tend to use bookmarks to keep my place on a thread so it makes little difference.

JoMumsnet · 27/06/2025 14:14

Thanks @DrPrunesqualer and @thaegumathteth - we'll get you both removed from the test group shortly.

Labradorium2000 · 28/06/2025 00:10

Please remove me from the test group if I was in it and also I would really like the paged view back, please. Scrolling is awful. Thanks 😊

Shoecamp · 28/06/2025 08:18

@hebemumsnetI’ve just come across this thread and didn’t know about a test group but I’m assuming I’m in it as I’ve been so frustrated with the endless scrolling for weeks, please remove me!!

sonjadog · 28/06/2025 17:06

I came on to site stuff to see if there was anyone else who finds this new infinite scrolling thing annoying, and then saw this thread!

Can I opt out too, please? It really is making reading longer threads difficult.

Frenchcroissant85 · 29/06/2025 23:25

HebeMumsnet · 23/04/2025 11:21

Morning, everyone.

We've made a note of all the names of those who have asked to be removed. It won't be instant but we're on the case.

We can see there are a few of you who have been removed before but are still on infinite scroll, so we'll check those accounts again very carefully. We did just want to check though that you are all on the main site. We had some confusion last week as a few people didn't realise that there was no option for pages on the app. So if you're using the app none of this will apply to you, but if not we hope to have it sorted very soon.

Please remove me too. It’s awful
I can’t even add post and had to scroll down so gave up and just replied to one of your posts. I want the pages back pretty please

HebeMumsnet · 30/06/2025 11:12

@Labradorium2000 @Shoecamp @sonjadog and @Frenchcroissant85 - you should be removed soon, too.

Labradorium2000 · 30/06/2025 18:26

@HebeMumsnet thank you so much ! It is now back to how it was.

whosename · 01/07/2025 21:34

Please remove me from the infinite scrolling group as well. Thank you.
