Pop-up advert that won’t go away.

I keep getting Siemens advert pop up randomly, and despite having an x in the corner it doesn’t often work.

I always thought pop ups weren’t quite in the spirit of the site 😏

FFS @HebeMumsnet I'm on a new device that I only got yesterday so it can't have cookies from before 18.09.

I've cleared all the cookies and wiped the history on my new device.
And it is back. This is a MN problem it doesn't happen anywhere else.

And Siemens are probably blissfully unaware that we’re all acquiring grudges against them. I’m guessing it’s something to do with the mysteries of programmatic advertising, like, not MN or Siemens but some kind of glitchy middle zone managed by a third party or bit of software

It's not really working as an advertising tool
is it and it is only ever mumsnet that seems to have these issues

The Alexa one isn't much better, whilst it is behind the thread you now have to scroll the entire screen to continue reading the posts .

It's back and agreed that I don't have these issues on other sites.

Back for me yesterday too.

Seimens is definitely not blocked dite wide. It keeps appearing on the HE threads. Prppa Pig Duplo is also all over the HE threads this week (well past those years) and a weird German singer (?) which no amount of complaining to Google removes. They take up half the screen and reappear every few messages.

This has happened several times this morning. No idea what it's advertising, i can't click on it to find an url, it's just a red band across the screen. It does say I can scroll past it (and I can) but it obliterates a chunk of the thread, usually the OP. I wonder if it's expanding from the ad space on the sidebar?

We've created a manual block for this now. It's a big ask, but if you see this after you've seen this post, please do clear your Cache for Mumsnet. That should be the end of it - thanks so much for your patience.

I've deleted my history and cleared my cache for all sites.

I've removed the add blocker I've been using since this issue has been a pita, fingers crossed all back to normal.

Now I'm getting pop up Mumsnet ads for Money Saving Expert. I haven't seen this many annoying ads in decades.

The bloody Siemens advert is back.
Popped up again over the last few days and twice this morning.

Anyone else getting a ’BT’ prize (scam) pop up as well? I’m still getting the Siemens ads but haven’t yet cleared my cache (only just found this thread).
