Pop-up advert that won’t go away.

I keep getting Siemens advert pop up randomly, and despite having an x in the corner it doesn’t often work.

I always thought pop ups weren’t quite in the spirit of the site 😏

If you click on the advert, it will load a new tab. Then copy and paste the URL of the page it takes you to and it'll help us locate it.

Hi all, this has now been blocked. Please can you clear your cookies and cache if you continue to see it? Please let us know if there are any further issues after that.

@Whinge It's something we ask our users to do when we're trying to locate an advert - absolutely fine not to click, that's up to you. We also suggest turning wifi and data off and then clicking, because the URL will load without actually loading you into the website.

Still getting this advert despite saying on a previous thread it's been sorted. I've cleared cookies etc but that's not stopped it appearing.

If it's still appearing after clearing cookies, can you get us the link to where the advert takes you? Sounds like it might be using different URLS, so we'll take a look.

@Procrastinates We've had a look at the Cadbury's ad and it is behaving as it should. It's an interscroller type ad so you can just scroll through it. They do sometimes 'pop out' and cover the full screen briefly as you scroll but you can just keep scrolling and they'll disappear.

The Simens one that people are reporting should be blocked across the site now so shouldn't be appearing. If you're still seeing it please do let us know. If anyone is able to get a video of it when it appears that would be really useful so we can see what's happening.

We're aware of the issue with the Siemens ad and have blocked it but it still seems to be a problem for some Mumsnetters. Clearing your cache and cookies should help, but if it's still cropping up then please could you send us a video of the advert as it appears for you? Thanks in advance.
