Hi @mnhq is it possible to please request a Muslim Board on here, a safe space for Muslims to have to speak freely about things that matter and should be discussed? Similar to that of the Jewish board.

I know, why cant the cat lovers, the royal family threads, the TV threads and style and beauty just all post in chat together...

Why cant we all just be one big board with no seperate topics?

On a more serious note, a muslim board isn't controversial! (My inner jew is screaming nuuuuuuuu)

also I have never had a Biryani without potatoes in all 35 years of eating them! What is this madness?

We are. That’s why I stand with my Muslim sisters and support decisions they may make.

@EllaDisenchanted is Pesach when there are lots of dietary restrictions? It also sounds hard work!

It’s Purim and Jewish New Year that I wish we had Islamic equivalents for! Those look fun (I live in a Jewish area in NW London)!

in my family, we fight over the potatoes in biryani.

DC would lie on the floor screaming at the prospect of potatoes... Including chips, which is weird as I always thought all kids liked chips...

It would be excellent to have a Muslim Board - everyone who is culturally, religiously, socially Muslim. I may open a thread about being exMuslim/agnostic. (Obviously respectfully!). Also good to discuss halal baby food, Muslim scouts for kids, islamophobia? holidays for Muslim families, growing up with Muslim values in a non Muslim country etc.

I’m derailing sorry… but while we are waiting for @mnhq (nuuuuuuuuu!) … biryani recipes please!

I’ll trade for either potato kugel recipe (not for your son @Scirocco 😅) or a pesach cake recipe (hmmm also potato flour, but he wouldn’t know)

But can you handle Ashkenazi Matza ….?!😅

@EllaDisenchanted There are different recipes for briyani depending on where you come from for example, Pakistani briyani, Mauritian briyani etc. Some are more spicier than others and cooked slightly differently.

Ps I come from an area where we are called “the potato people” because there is a lot of potatoes planted in there. As such , I can’t live without potatoes 😂

This is a nice, straightforward biryani recipe that you can tailor to your preferences (even... shudder... potatoes).

I wonder whether the delay is due to discussions at mnhq over whether what's in fact needed is a Muslims (with potatoes) plus a Muslims (potatoes in biryani are ypu mad) board.

It's the real schism in modern Muslim life.

I’m going to request a board just for the potatoes. Seems like we can cook them in many different ways so loads to talk about it :)
