Hi @mnhq is it possible to please request a Muslim Board on here, a safe space for Muslims to have to speak freely about things that matter and should be discussed? Similar to that of the Jewish board.

I also support the creation of this board. I’m surprised it doesn’t exist already! I do wonder why MN seem hesitant to create one and if they are concerned about what could be discussed there.

Because the implication of your post was that the number of people who supported this suggestion were a) not genuine or b) not Muslim and, therefore, that there wouldn't be sufficient users and therefore c) that there isn't enough real support for it.

If you'd read the whole of the thread (you did, didn't you?) you should have realised just how much support there was for the whole idea, and that there shouldn't be any need for people to have to email MNHQ instead of posting on Site Stuff.

There’s a Women’s Euro 2022 board that hasn’t been used in a long time. MN are hardly precious about boards if that one is still about.

Just rename it Muslim Mumsnetters and that’s the admin all done!

Golly, when I think how long it took HQ to move the Quote button, after an outcry lasting many months, I'm not hopeful for the speedy establishment of a Muslim board.

Moving the button probably requires some code changes. Creating a new board is just pressing an existing button and provide a name. The functionality for one exists for the other one it needs to be modified

I doubt it makes any difference to MNHQ just how many boards there are ( within reason).
They could create one at the touch if a button, and if it only had 3 Muslim people and a stray dog posting, so what?

There is clearly a lot of support for this board but MN are dragging their heels. There must be a reason why and it doesn’t look good on them!!!!

Starter - aloo ki tikki, watermelon and mango slices

Main - tapas-style: Moroccan lamb tagine, butter chicken, veg biryani, Lebanese style salad

Dessert - pistachio and rose kheer, strawberries, and white chocolate covered digestives (for DC)

We're going to have breakfast at our local Turkish cafe (so probably cilbir for me!), and get croissants from our local Syrian bakery to have in the park with DC.

it's a very valid concern you have there. us posting a multitude of delicious (high calorie) recipes will bring down western democracies as people can't get anything done due to food comas. and while people are napping after massive "muslim" meals, we take over quietly. we will call it the great biryani invasion plan of 2024.
