Pages constantly reloading

Driving me a bit bananas. On any thread, several times in a few minutes it’ll reload the page and quite often get this timeout

Pages constantly reloading
OP posts:

I had this (iPhone and Safari), it completely went away when I rejected all cookies (along with the nine million promoted threads that were so irritating).

BoudiccaOfSuburbia · 15/04/2024 18:01

This drives me mad.

And it has been a problem since the last big site rebuild.

So many posts lost to page re-loads.

Why can your ads re-load independently to the threads and posts ? (I know nothing about websites but it always seems to be down to ads changing / loading).

Numerous threads complaining, someone from HQ always asks for device and browser, and nothing changes.

Grumpy, iPhone Safari.

@DawnMumsnet @HebeMumsnet @LilyMumsnet

is anything being done to resolve this? It’s unusable at certain times! You have even had people further up the thread tell you what the issue is

LoobyDop · 28/04/2024 19:35

This is worse than ever for me at the moment. Every single time I open a board or a thread.

EspressoMacchiato · 15/05/2024 08:10

This is still happening for me. It’s driving me bonkers. I’m already reading posts and the bloody page refreshes.

justasking111 · 15/05/2024 08:37

I'm now clearing my history regularly and it's settled down.

Me too. It's dire. Clearing history never worked for me.

justasking111 · 16/05/2024 08:40

I don't use the app if there's one. Perhaps delete the app, clear history and just Google.

Who are you talking to?

LoobyDoop2 · 03/06/2024 20:14

Well, I crumbled and cleared all my history (meaning I had to set up a whole new account, because Mumsnet’s piss poor security meant I used a throwaway email address for my last one and couldn’t get a password reset when I was logged out) and can confirm it makes absolutely no difference. Pages are very slightly faster to load, but I’ve still had it reload a couple of times in half an hour.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2024 21:48

I definitely think it's worse now.

Rinoachicken · 04/09/2024 10:29

Did this ever get fixed? I am still having this problem and it’s just getting so unusable now because of it. Are others still having this problem?

justasking111 · 04/09/2024 12:12

No but I have to remember to delete my search history on Google and chrome,, otherwise it starts again.

Having the same problem here. I’ve just inherited my husband’s old iPad, and the page refresh due to an unspecified error happens a couple of times an hour on Safari. Chrome and Firefox are worse - no error messages, they’ll just freeze at random times. I don’t have any problem with Firefox and Chrome on my ancient desktop.

Rinoachicken · 04/09/2024 20:12

It happens about every 30seconds for me - and each time it does it scrolls me all the back to the top of the thread

LoobyDoop2 · 05/09/2024 08:29

That’s the most frustrating part. It seems to happen more when you’re near the bottom of a page as well.
