Pages constantly reloading

Driving me a bit bananas. On any thread, several times in a few minutes it’ll reload the page and quite often get this timeout

Pages constantly reloading

Same, I get aww snap constantly, it's making the site unusable. Chrome, android, 100 posts per page, no idea about consent options. It's only ever on MN I have issues and it's always the same advice! I don't have to perform technical operations to look at other sites.

I get this all the time and I've cleared the cache.

Namerchanger1 · 09/04/2024 12:16

Mine is still the same - constant reloading. Have cleared my cache, accepted / declined cookies

Using features offered by a site shouldn’t negatively impact the use of the site. If we’re not supposed to use ‘all on one page’ or 100 posts per page then they shouldn’t be offered. It’s ridiculous

NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2024 17:28

I went to 100 per page under duress after you said to stop using the all posts on one page option. I'm not going to fewer posts per page. The issue needs fixing, not us changing how we use the site to avoid the issue.

The 'having trouble replicating it' line is so very tired now too.

LoobyDop · 09/04/2024 18:46

I’ve always had 25 posts per page, and I still get this. And I accept all cookies whenever prompted.

lavenderlou · 09/04/2024 18:53

I've only ever had 25 posts per page and I still have the problem.

LoobyDop · 09/04/2024 20:05

I think it’s something to do with adverts. It generally seems to happen to me at the point where I’m scrolling past an advert that takes a while to load.

HebeMumsnet · 10/04/2024 11:02

Morning, everyone. We're still looking at this.

It looks like no one remembers which consent option they chose. If you think you might, the options are above and we'd love to know as that might help us work out what's going on.

And if anyone having this issue could let us know if they have an adblocker or any other plug-ins installed, that would be very helpful. And if anyone is using an incognito browser, again, that would be useful to know. A few of you have already let us know about this, we know, but more information on this might just help. Thank you! Flowers

Twofifty · 10/04/2024 13:30

It has just done it to me twice in a row when I clicked on a thread title in active. No ad blocker, not using incognito.

Me too

wisewomanmummy · 12/04/2024 17:46

This is still happening despite me following all your instructions, no ad block, plug ins or incognito browsing.
I'm using Chrome on Android, and it only happens on Mumsnet.
Please make it stop.

SomethingFun · 12/04/2024 18:01

something on the page is making it reload - I assumed it was the ads refreshing intermittently but if it still happens with an ad blocker it’s something else on the page - maybe the mumsnet banner stuff at the top. It literally happens all the time - just get one of your engineers/ testers to open a few pages on their mobile and scroll through and it will replicate itself. It might not happen on a desktop computer so they need to use a phone.

AutumnCrow · 13/04/2024 05:07

Yup, this only happens to me on a phone.

I'm using the mobile site on an iPhone, Safari, accepted all cookies, no ad blocker. Nightmare, pretty much unusable. Also drains the phone battery really quickly.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2024 07:34

Yes, it's draining my battery as well!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2024 07:35

It just did the reload again. I think it's happening more often too.

justasking111 · 13/04/2024 07:49

Is it just happening with android I wonder. It's time to replace the IT agency IMO. With the crashing I'm not even seeing the ads, so every cloud has a silver lining.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2024 07:53

No, Apple too.

Anewuser · 13/04/2024 07:57

This is so frustrating.

No Adblocker. Using an iPad.

Only happens on mumsnet.

Comes up having problems loading or freezes.

Getting to the point where I’ll probably stop looking at mumsnet. I can’t be the only person thinking that.

SomethingFun · 13/04/2024 11:20

I’m running a chat thread on my laptop in safari with developer tools open and the network tab. The amount of calls is unbelievable for a static text based website. I’m not doing anything at all and I’m watching everything just go up and up 😁 Each page is using more and more memory and doing more and more redirects for every second it is opened so phone browsers won’t be able to handle that and will crash and reload the page and then it starts again. Whatever primis.tech is needs a redesign!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2024 11:46

That's really interesting, @SomethingFun.

This....every few minutes. At least it is shortening my time on here.

Same here. Tablet /chrome

EndlesslyDistracted · 14/04/2024 19:57

@HebeMumsnet reporting back, since clearing website data and rejecting all cookies as mentioned last week the problem has completely gone away (iphone on safari, up to date ios, no ad blocker, no private browsing).

Twofifty · 15/04/2024 00:17

I don't want to clear my cache, last time I did it for an MN fix I lost all my saved passwords and couldn't log in anywhere, it was extremely inconvenient.

HebeMumsnet · 15/04/2024 09:50

Thanks for the further info, everyone. We'll feed all this back and will come back to you when there's any further news.

I don't clear my entire cache, just MN cookies through the settings menu on my phone.
