Are these eggs you have bought, or eggs your own have laid? Does this mean you have a rooster? (I suspect the correct term might be "cock", but I didnt want to ask if you had one of those!)

eggs I bought
I could have used eggs my chooks have laid but I only have one cockerel of indeterminate breed (and he is 1/2 bantam as well) and I wanted some fancy chickens that lay silly coloured eggs
so I have three breeds cooking in the incubator - one lays dark chocolate brown eggs, one white eggs and one blue

I really want some more chickens!!! But I can't convince dh to build a bigger run for them (yet) - he says maybe for the next flock...

um, don't know if anyone's already mentioned this, but if any discussion of the article must be banned, then surely this thread will ban itself and therefore is already not in existence?

we have built a Poultry Palace
My only concern is that it is too big for only a few chickens
will have to set another batch as soon as these hatch I think

PPH replied on the incubation thread. Hope your hatch goes well. I have two dozen Sasso eggs on order for beginning of April and I will stick in a few of my original chickens eggs too to save my lovely rooster as DH is convinced he shoots blanks and needs to go .

My new rescue hens are laying the weirdest eggs, have posted pic of mahhosive one on my blorg.

Pph - that sounds a fantastic excuse to fill it ! I would love to hatch some eggs, but am very sentimental and don't think I could deal with the little boy chicks...but certainly couldn't keep them! If only you could buy sexed eggs!

You know what we've had a bit of a change of heart on chickens - if only out of curiousity to see what the heck you're going to talk about... so... we'll give it a TRIAL run and see how it goes. Watch this space .
