We need to be able to discuss Gaza

Can MNHQ please allow a forum to discuss Gaza with some clear guidelines on what and what is not considered anti semitic?
Taking these threads down just dumbs down the site completely.

The hospital is a Christian hospital founded in 1882 and provides free treatment for many . On Saturday it was struck by an Israeli rocket which landed on the cancer treatment centre damaging two floors and injuring 4 staff.
Is it controversial to post that - I've lost track?

Gothambutnotahamster · 18/10/2023 00:29

Depends whether its true or not @Silence1

anotherside · 18/10/2023 00:30

Three or more threads of hundreds of people calling out Israeli war crimes deleted. Quelle surprise. What the Israeli government is doing this very minute - collective punishment of the people of Gaza through mass bombing and cutting access to food and water is a serious war crime. Countries have been accused of genocide for far less.

LuluBlakey1 · 18/10/2023 00:30

I don't understand why the UK , apart from expressing horror and outrage about any attacks on /mistreatment of Jewish or Palestinian civilians, is yet again pushing itself to this situation. Why is Sunak going to Israel and on a tour of Middle East leaders? Why is he sending a warship- we hardly have any? We're a piddling island with no power on the edge of Europe.

Livelovebehappy · 18/10/2023 00:17

Hamas have 100% caused this shit show. Yet people on these threads gloss over that, because it doesn’t fit with their narrative. They jump straight to the hospital bombing (which btw is very much doubtful now as to Israel having done it).

Yes they started it this time. So the response is to obliterate them? 😳
Israel is in absolute control of Palestine and has been for some time.

HeidiInTheBigCity · 18/10/2023 00:31

Please let us discuss Gaza!

There are quite a few regular MN posters - myself, a lot of name changes ago - included, that feel very deeply and personally about this!

Personally, for myself: I am a leftie, always have been, always will be! But also: 50% of my family are Palestinian!

I have no love for Hamas! In fact, I have - literally! - walked out of meetings on the grounds of "some lovely white British grandma from Milton Keynes or something started to spout some batshit BS glorifying them! And: that was 20 years ago!

But I have no love for what the state of Israel is doing either - specifically: I sort of (read: massively!) resent their claim to impunity as they commit unspeakable acts - and have been, for as long as I remember!

I stand with CIVILIANS! I am HORRIFIED, but also: all therapy that I have had aside: I cannot sleep these days because I have (relatively minor, but I still think of it every day!) war trauma.

On substance: for some of us - myself included! - it is VITAL to have spaces to publicly hurt, anonymously. And, given how contentious this issue is: the Internet is one of the best places to do so!

Please delete, if needed: permaban! posters! But please DO let us discuss the horrific acts of Hamas and the equally as horrific crimes against people in Gaza!

Ididivfama · 18/10/2023 00:33

Even if Israel is doing only half of the bombing, they have a very clear and undeniable history of trying to eradicate Palestinians. You can’t deny it, even if you think it’s ‘right’ to do so. Have you seen the tweets from senior Israeli officials including the prime minister? They genuinely think Palestinian children are dirt.

anotherside · 18/10/2023 00:33

@Silence1

Definitely controversial. Any criticism of the Israeli government which has, in just the last week or so, killed around 1000 Palestinian children is not allowed.

Yes!!! I’m sick of the one sided censoring.

False

"Conclusion:

A missile launched by a Palestinian group exploded mid-air (Reason unknown) and one piece fell on the hospital causing an explosion.

The geolocation and timing of the footage is conclusive."

It’s nuts.

Enyo2 · 18/10/2023 00:36

@MNHQ can you please make it clear what your position is on disinformation / misinformation.

Also can you post guidance a warning when if has been reported.

The challenge it yourself approach? Not working.

Eradication?

From 1990 to 2022 the population of Palestine increased from 1.98 million to 5.04 million people. This is a growth of 155.0 percent in 32 years. The highest increase in Palestine was recorded in 1991 with 4.58 percent.

Well about one one on Emunim? The Zionist terrorist group who happily kidnapped and killed British targets plus civilians. No difference between them and Hamas really except the political faction won. As did Senn.
Being Jewish isn’t the problem. Being the one with all the money, tanks and planes against rockets made from water pipes is.

Well said but just to say they have more than just home made weapons. Which is why Israel is going in hard, not that I agree with them going in this hard. These are getting fired at towns and villages. They have been since the last pogrom.

Re read what I wrote carefully @WanderingWitches you are the one getting it wrong - helpful hint look at the day I mention before jumping in

@Gothambutnotahamster
the IDF spokesperson who tweeted a now deleted post semeemd to think it true. And the fact that the IDF is releasing old (ie fake) footage in defence of the action while generally proIsrael western leaders are now coming out to condemn the bombing and calling for calm and for human rights to be respected etc leads me to think that Israel has a case to answer. If Hamas was responsible, the combined might of the US, Israel etc intelligence forces and media teams would have presented a watertight case by now. Instead it’s deflection and “let’s wait and see” (ie let’s wait and distort and forget).

He wasn't an IDF spokesperson, he is an Israeli Youtuber. Please don't trust any info on Twitter.

It was hit by a rocket launched by Hamas from Gaza.

Because Rishi is standing with a country suffering from one of the worst terrorist attacks in recent history. Bless him for doing so.

Highandlows · 17/10/2023 22:46

I want to know why Egypt and Jordan being neighbours do not want to accept Palestinians people? I find people blame Western leaders but what about the other countries in the Middle East?

I read a theory that the neighbouring countries end up with huge Palestinian refugee camps which become permanent... The countries realise it's an underhand way for the Israelis to boot out more and more of the Palestinian population, so it's better not to accept them in the first place because they will then never be able to go back.
