Can MNHQ please allow a forum to discuss Gaza with some clear guidelines on what and what is not considered anti semitic?
Taking these threads down just dumbs down the site completely.

A hospital gets attacked and every thread on it gets deleted.

We can't say Israel bombed a hospital until we have it for fact, but we can say hamas keeps firing rockets and a have it accepted as absolute truth?

I mean are you surprised when you read the comments within the threads? Some posters just can't help themselves.

I guess it is quite different with Ukraine as pretty much everyone was in agreement over who was to blame. This situation is so divisive and polarised

I've been on or read several of the deleted threads tonight. As far as I can tell the threads start off with acceptable debate, but then various conspiracy theorists and antisemitic posters join the conversations and spout all sorts of unverified nonsense. I agree with MumsnetHQ's decision not to allow threads that descend into antisemitic hate speech to stand.

No, that doesn't hold and is false equivalence because we know from the UN and NATO StratCom COE that Hamas has a long history of disregard for civilians, including using them as human shields.

It’s quotes like this that get the threads deleted. Mis information - implying it’s Israel, when it’s now been said it’s not. Pro Palestinians shouting people down for actually having an opinion different to their own. Lots of hate and frothing at the mouth against Israel/Jews.

Ohh of course there will be antisemitism there too. I haven’t personally seen it yet, more people horrified at Israel as a government. Hating a government isn’t antisemitic. Hating the Iranian government also isn’t Islamophobic. Most people get that.

Hamas have 100% caused this shit show. Yet people on these threads gloss over that, because it doesn’t fit with their narrative. They jump straight to the hospital bombing (which btw is very much doubtful now as to Israel having done it).

This is ridiculous. The point of this thread was to discuss solutions to threads descending into prejudice. Threads were being deleted prior to the hospital attack for antisemitism. This particular incident does not need to be discussed here.

Maybe there should be a temporary section. One that is limited to users who are established posters because there seems to be an awful lot of new accounts.

And they never mention the 1400 Jewish people who have been purposely targeted and slaughtered, or the 250 abducted Jewish women, children and babies.

And I would guess anyone with an iota of intelligence would actually know what’s anti semetic and what’s not. We shouldn’t need ‘guidelines’ on what’s appropriate?

I wonder this too. Lots of very rich Middle Eastern countries stand by & do nothing and yet avoid any criticism.
