We've just done the second stage of this - the for sale and wanted topics are gone, and we've replaced them with a For Sale / Wanted category, with topics for various types of item you might want to buy / sell. They should show up at the bottom of the main topic lists on this page.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Mumsnet id say this was selfish to be honest! fair enuff may cut the scammers down but not all ppl are scammers there will be alot less ppl on here now!!

Why selfish - doesn't it make it easier to find things now?

Other than that everything has disappeared rather quickly - couldn't you have just turned off the ability to start new threads in For Sale? I can foresee a lot of confusion for a week or two.

no, all gone from threads im in and threads i started!

Think you will get a lot of annoyed people as most will be mid - sale/buying!

Like the different topics though.

PLEASE let us have access to the old for sale just for a couple of days (you could block any new messages - so we need to CAT). At least we could see who the sellers were. I had a few things that I was making arrangements on, but did not take note of the sellers names...

I also think that having a classified section that does not have for sale/wanted in it doesn't make much sense. I.e. move it all into one section (toys reunited IS wanted really, fedback is def related to sales), and/or move the remainder (charity/non mumsnet requests etc into something like other adverts. Or in fact, just move them into other section...
